Cool short stories.

The reader is one of my favorites and he is what had me get the book. The stories are good and the worldbuilding is interesting. I like the ones where the orcs team up with man against the elves. In DND my favorite race is orc, so I'm biased. There are 3 full books in the series that I will try next.

Great independent project.

I'm a big fan of space dock and decided to give it a try. The voice cast are great and the foley sounds make it like listening to a tv show. I just wish it was something I was more into. I'm not a real space opera fan so it is outside my normal listen. But it was a good listen and well worth the credit.

i cant get past the narration

I have read the book and it was good. I just can't get past the narration. Maybe the narrator and the voice I had when reading just dont mesh.

A good book if short stories

I bought the book for the Jim Butcher story about Toot and Mister. That story was worth the credit. I really enjoyed Troll Life by Kerrie Hughes. I would like more stories about Harsel and Snorrie. The rest of the stories are a mixed bag of ok and good but worth the credit.

Great performances

The voice acting is stellar. The stories are good. Some of the stories didn't grab me like like the others, but it is a great way to spend an afternoon.

unsatisfied

After a 2nd listen, I was still unsatisfied with the story and performance. James' performance was lacking because he didn't use the voices I have come to expect for specific characters. Carlos now has a heavy spanish accent, Marcone is british and River Shoulders lost his Native American accent. Why? And lets kill off characters that have had reams of back story written about them. I'm sure the world changes are satisfying for Jim as a writer, but like in ghost story, the dramatic differences between the style of dresden story arc didn't fulfill my expectations. these last 2 books rate lower on my employment scale with the first 3 books and ghost story.

very good adaptation of from a comic book. the voice cast was wonderful. the dialog between morpheus and death was my favorite part. I will be getting book 2 when it is available.

Ok story but Nathan's range of voices is limited.

Worth listening to if you are a nathan fillion fan but im not. It's good enough to keep. A re-listen on a sunny day with a glass of tea makes it worth keeping.
