Sequel or Standalone, Great Book!
Revisado: 06-10-23
I really loved this second installment in the Detective Sam series. It works well as a standalone, so I think readers will still enjoy it even if they haven't read book one.
This book tells us so much more about Sam - their coworkers, their history, their fears and experiences as a nonbinary detective! And of course, Sam and Teddy are sooo cute together!
The narrator did an amazing job, and the sound effects really enhanced all the interview scenes. Highly recommend!

Fun way to try out historical fiction
Revisado: 05-23-23
This book was a fun foray into historical fiction. That's not normally my genre, but the summary was intriguing, and so I decided to give it a try!
The six international characters working together to try and change the tide of the war was a great premise. I also liked that the characters didn't feel painfully old fashioned - they were appropriate to the historical setting but they still felt like actual, regular people, not just historical cliches. The narrators use of various accents in the audiobook helped bring this international crew to life!
All in all, a solid book that was an enjoyable deviation from my usual genres.

Great crime novel
Revisado: 01-12-23
This was a great crime novel. I especially enjoyed the way the author used the timeline and short windows into various character's lives to make the central chase plot more intriguing. If you enjoy classic crime novels about mercenaries with a code and the good guys on the run, I think you'll enjoy this one!
The narrator also did a great job distinguishing the voices and bringing the plot to life.
