Preached at the Zoar Chapel in London on August 9, 1846, Philpot reflected on the exchange and communication between God and man. The only true exchange, he states, can come from a recognition of our sinful ways. In doing so, we can receive God’s teachings, bear its fruits, and keep our word in constant devotion.

Both Refreshing and Humbling
Revisado: 08-10-23
This is my first time hearing of this author, let alone his work. I truly enjoyed this brief Outlook on the grace and mercy of God. He points out how the soul is in desperate need of the richness that God provides. Aside from the derogatory marks at the end, this was quite enjoyable.

I finally read the book, and I was blown away!
Revisado: 07-21-23
I have been an occasional supporter of the ministry of hookers for Jesus for about a decade or so. Upon finally listening to this audiobook of her story, I was taken back. My heart was broken over everything she testified about. I'm grateful for her bravery. I know a number of sisters & brothers in Christ who have been through their own stories of abuse in various forms, and a few that prostituted themselves, both genders. I have story of sorts, myself.
It is wondrous how the grace of God can reach into the very bowels of Darkness, and Rescue Souls who are in desperate need for freedom. Glory be to God Almighty for what he has done in Annie's life. I applaud you my big sister. I pray that the Lord continues to guide you and Ozzy and your children on life's journey. May the name of Jesus be lifted High, as he gathers his sons and daughters from the enemy's clutches.
I pray that everyone that reads this review, listens to this book. it will touch you when the depth of your soul. more importantly, if you don't know the Savior Jesus Christ, May the spirit of God open you to the possibility of everlasting life through faith the son of God. shalom.

For decades Jason Wilson was losing the war within - the internal battle that many men wage daily but were never taught how to win. As a result, he could not combat his toxic thoughts and emotions. Instead, he was conquered by them and communicated without composure - hurting those he loved and himself. This went on until he renewed his mind by releasing years of past trauma. His life and relationships were transformed when he learned how to master his emotions and express them with self-control. In the process, Jason became a better husband, father, and leader.

Revisado: 07-14-23
I truly was touched by brother Jason's transparency in this book. He went places that truly resounded with my own life, and the lives of people I know. I truly hope this is not the last book that Sensei Wilson writes. Is it possible that he may be developing a study guide / workbook for this book. That would be amazing! Thank you, brother Jason. May the grace of the Most High continue to saturate your life and the life of your family. I strongly recommend this book to every man. #keeppraying #keeppreaching #keepgoingfwd

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Historia
F. Scott Fitzgerald makes antebellum Baltimore his setting for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a fantastical tale with some Poe-like overtones about a baby born at age 70 who then lives life in reverse, his hair turning "in the dozen years of his life from white to iron-gray, the network of wrinkles on his face becoming less pronounced". What ramifications that creates for Benjamin's relationship with his father first and then later with his wife and his own son makes for some fantastical situations.

I absolutely love this. I'm going to give it another a couple more listens. Brother C.S. Lewis has a way of making faith so plain to understand how complex it truly is. It originates not from the thoughts of man but from such a magnificent God.

Very poetic. Very profound. It was my first time ever hearing anything by Philpot. I enjoyed it. We are the husbandry, the workmanship of Father God. He proves us by pruning us, in order that we may produce the good fruit that is faithful.

The narrator was good. He sounded an awful lot like the voiceover actor from the Geico commercials with the gecko character. LOL. He has quite alot of experience working with really large brand companies in Europe. I was blessed by his insight. This is definitely a good reminder of how to be a good leader or manager in a company.

Historia
First published in 1903, this groundbreaking work is a cornerstone of African American literary history and a foundational text in the field of sociology. In these fourteen essays, W. E. B. Du Bois introduces and explores the concept of “double-consciousness”—a term he uses to describe the experience of living as an African American and having a “sense of always looking at one’s self through the eyes of others.” Though an examination of Black life in post-Civil War America, The Souls of Black Folk has had a lasting impact on civil rights and the discussion of race in the United States.

Powerful story. Okay voice.
Revisado: 02-26-22
I went through the book twice. story of that era was a great eye opener. However, the voice doesn't grab my attention. You really must set quiet time aside, in order to pay attention. Otherwise, it was a good read. The last 3 chapters grabbed me. The stories of his son, the 2 Johns, & others were especially heartfelt.

Such is a treasure, that I went through it 3x!
Revisado: 02-01-22
It's been almost 2 years since I signed up with Audible. I wish I came across this book nearly two years ago. Wow! There are so much practical advice for creating positive habits and growing in discipline. This is far beyond a "life coaching" manual. With careful mentions of classic authors, historical phenoms in industry, sports, and entertainment, as well as regular hard working people, James Clear shows that just about anyone can put habit after habit after habit after Habit to practice with consistency and produce an impact within their immediate circle. He also explains how everyone and anyone can use both their strengths and weaknesses to improve themselves, as stewards of what God has given. This book further sheds light on how the negative habits that can lead into addictions get started in the human brain, as well as how many can be possibly reversed. This book is automatically in my top 10 for 2022. I may listen this another 3x this year. Invest in yourself. Blessings.
