Historia
It’s easy to be pessimistic about the state of our country these days, but as McCormick explains, if the true test of a great country is its capacity for self-renewal, the United States of America stands apart. Our country has continually defeated grave threats and overcome domestic divisions when the odds have been stacked against us. That’s the American story, and we can do it again. Drawing on decades of leadership in business, the military, and government, McCormick issues a call for visionary servant leadership.

This is a clear blueprint for American leaders.
Revisado: 03-15-24
This book is an unusually clear and direct roadmap for America right now. David’s leadership skills are inspiring. I’ve heard him speak and I’ve now read his book. His vision comes from his tremendous experience and an innate will to excel. I’m a big fan.

Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Serious subject with captivating humor and emotion
Revisado: 07-15-23
The narrator was perfect. I found it a wonder that the author could get in the minds of young adults and tell the stories she did. I listened on train rides all week and almost apologized for laughing so often and so hard. I’ve read some very good books covering the Oxy tragedies, but none this engaging.

Historia
There’s chaos in Hollywood at the end of the New Year’s Eve countdown. Working her graveyard shift, LAPD detective Renée Ballard waits out the traditional rain of lead as hundreds of revelers shoot their guns into the air. Only minutes after midnight, Ballard is called to a scene where a hardworking auto shop owner has been fatally hit by a bullet in the middle of a crowded street party.

Terrific story
Revisado: 11-26-21
This Audiobook is a nice combination of another terrific story with Rene Ballard and Harry Bosch, amplified by two excellent narrators. Titus Welliver, like Lucas Brick, make listening to any book engaging. Connelly doesn’t give much away. That is good writing. This book also is a real insight into the stress on law enforcement in the time of COVID, a national conundrum.
