I love these stories!
Revisado: 06-03-20
I have been such a fan of Sandersons novels that I was worried that an anthology of shorter stories would leave me dissatisfied. I was wrong. These stories are great amd definitely whet my pallette to read more about these other world from Sanderson in the future. Definitely worth the listen.

Great helpful advice
Revisado: 05-25-20
This book is definitely worth the read. Just enough detail to give you a form grasp on what to do without being overwhelming.
However, the narrator left some things to be desired with her performance. The whole book was read like it was an infomercial or a telephone audio directory. A book of advice on something this personal feels like it should be delivered by a friend, not the airport announcement lady.
That's not to say that the narrator ruined it. it's still listenable, and she has a very professional voice. I just wish she could have been a little more relaxed and personable with her delivery.
Overall very valuable. The issues with the narration shouldn't keep you from buying this book. I'm still glad I purchased it.

Loved it!
Revisado: 04-28-20
Such an amazing piece of fiction. The level of detail in the wield building is just incredible, and the characters were so well drawn they truly feel like friends of mine by now. An amazing feat, considering the looong list of characters Sanderson has woven together in these books.
I have read enough from the greatest authors within the fantasy genre that I have become difficult to please. When I start a new book or series, it is generally with the suspicion that this could be a shallow reformulation of the great works that have preceded it. Sometimes I will lose interest about 100 pages in and move along to other things. I have become cynical because of this.
Knowing the accolades that Sanderson has recieved for these works, I had hope that they would be above average. But far from that, he has proven to be a truly excellent writer and master storyteller. The world he has created and the epic he has unfolded in this series stands proudly alongside the greatest fantasy works I have ever read.
I would highly recommend these books to any fan of the fantasy genre. They are a must-read.

Great Follow up to the first book
Revisado: 03-19-20
Sanderson is just invredible. The first book was awesome, but this 2nd installment was even more gripping. And while the performance of the narrators the first time around was good, this was even better... particularly on the part of the female narrator. Michael Kramer is always amazing. Kate Reading had some rough patches the first time, and her french accent was positively cartoon-ish and annoying. This time she was much better.
Very enjoyable and so interesting.

Great new developments in book 4
Revisado: 08-21-19
This series was a little rough at the start. Some of the character dynamics were a bit hard to swallow, like Reskin's training to act any part in any group, but somehow he doesn't know what a "friend" is... and Frisha and Tam constantly taking turns berating each other for "offending" Reskin.
... But that has all resolved as the series progressed, and Book 4 brings massive plot development that really has put flesh on every character in really interesting ways. I am fully invested in seeing this series through now.

Great little book
Revisado: 10-10-18
I have always loved Mike Matthews, ever since I found him online. I've been listening and reading him for a couple years now, and I am 40 lbs lighter and quite a bit stronger thanks to him.
This book is a great primer on how to improve the most important areas of your life. If you are not into fitness, you should still buy this book. I've already have tons of practical steps that I am putting into action because of this book, and NONE of the big ones has anything to do with fitness.
Fitness is important, and this book will give you some tools and help motivate you to get in shape... along with motivating you to transform yourself into person you've always wanted to be in every other area of life.
The only critique I would give this book is that somebody else should have narrated it. Mike Matthews does a fine job speaking. I listen to his podcasts all the time. But as an AVID audiobook listener, I generally expect a little bit more of a "performance" from the narrator. This felt like a 5 hour long podcast. Not bad, but not great either.
... it's generally a bad idea for author's to narrate their own books anyway.
But that is NOT a reason to pass up on this book. The tools in here are too valuable, and Mike still was his usual charming self.
Get this book. If there is anything in your life that you might like to improve, you need this book.

The conclusion of the Mistborn trilogy fulfills all the promise of the first two books. Revelations abound, connections rooted in early chapters of the series click into place, and surprises, as satisfying as they are stunning, blossom like fireworks to dazzle and delight. It all leads up to a finale unmatched for originality and audacity that will leave listeners shaking their heads in wonder, as if awaking from an amazing dream.

I couldn't stop listening
Revisado: 10-06-18
This whole series was one of the most imaginative and masterful works of modern fantasy I have ever enjoyed. The characters were vibrant and interesting, the world of the story was quite original and fascinating, and the plot kept me not only interested but continually surprised. Just when I thought I had figured out how everything for together and where the story was headed, the author would reveal something that proved me wrong. And his twists were always better and more clever than my expectations.
I was very pleased with this whole trilogy, and I was in awe of the narrator's performance. He brought this story to life in a way that few people could. Just fantastic work all the way around.

It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

Great story
Revisado: 08-17-18
I think I've found my favorite new author. So well done for the author's first attempt at storytelling. I'm blown away. And this is my first audiobook with Michael Kramer as narrator.
Kramer's delivery really grated on me at the beginning. It seemed like every sentence was read the same way, which gave the impression that he was just getting through the text without thinking about performance. It felt a little like listening to a book narrated by Agent Friday from that old show "Dragnet."
But an hour or two in, I began to see just why Kramer gets such rave reviews. His narration became much more nuanced and well performed, and his voices were excellent.
I loved this book and can't wait to listen to the next one.

Great Story, the performance was decent
Revisado: 08-05-18
I sort of preferred the narrator from the other three books of the series. Neither narrator is truly great, in my opinion, but this narrator's attempt at giving the characters unique voices actually had many of the characters sounding too much like other characters, and it became confusing at points. Also, several scenes the narrator read the line in a manner that did not match the description (e.g. reading a line calmly that was said to be shouted in exasperation). None of these ruined it, but they were momentary distractions that snapped me out of the reverie of the story. Not ideal.
Nevertheless, the reading is overall decently done, and with enough emotion and expression to keep the listener engaged. And the story is excellent thought-provoking. I enjoyed it.
