Abridged version letdown.

I wish I had realized this was an abridged version. I have a hardbound copy I began reading many years ago but had not finished. There were some specific, much more personal things in there that are totally missing here. I feel I didn't learn much about Billy in this version. I'll dig out my hard copy and read it.
I did appreciate Cliff Barrows doing the reading though. And the few clips of Billy himself.

Don't put a period at the end of your negative thoughts.

Gave me much to think about in my own life. I love autobiographies, especially when the author describes how they felt in the situations they are in. And hearing them read it themselves you gain another level of depth into their emotion that a biographer can never achieve. Henry Winkler does a wonderful job at this. I highly recommend this book.

An amazing life!

I enjoy autobiographies. I feel they are much more believable since the actual person is involved telling the story. That is what you get here. And I'm glad Danny read it himself. That added extra realism to the whole thing. And it is great to hear him chuckle here and there as he relives certain moments as he reads. And you can detect other emotions in his voice in various other places. I've learned so much about him from this book. I love to hear how people got to where they are. I highly recommend this book.

Excellent narrator! This book will help you deal with some of your own great sadness. This is the 2nd time I have read it. Last time was several years ago. I had forgotten how moving it was. I've went through some things since my first reading so I have seen this book in a very different light this time.
