Historia
Anna Vere has escaped to the Cotswolds for Christmas to try to heal from her broken engagement and, far worse, her broken dreams. When her reserved room at a bed-and-breakfast is flooded, she takes up the offer of camping out in Willoughby Close, the converted stables of the nearby manor house...and is taken under the wing of sexy local carpenter Colin Heath. What starts out as merely helping a neighbor in need turns into far more as Colin and Anna share a surprisingly intense and emotional connection, weaving their own Christmas magic as they spend the holiday together.

Sorry to say, the whole plot could have been done in a 30 min listen. I kept waiting for something to happen but it never did.

Winnifred Gobaldi and Byron Visser are not best friends. Yes, they’ve known each other for years, but they’re not even friendly. Winnie considers them more like casual, distant acquaintances who find each other barely tolerable, especially when he's being condescending (which is all the time).

Worst Penny Reid ever.
Revisado: 09-02-22
This is HORRID. The DUMBEST “story” Ive ever heard. I’m so pissed i wasted a credit. The narrators are wooden and nasal. The female has a baby like sticky voice and the male is supposed to be so manly and sexy but he sounds like a hero from Revenge of theNerds, who also has a sinus infection. Uggghh.

Historia
They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of glittering summers on the lakeshore of her childhood, she spends them in a stylish apartment in the city, going out with friends, and keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart. Until she receives the call that sends her racing back to Barry’s Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek—the man she never thought she’d have to live without.

Dont expect anything to happen. Except an “Are you there God its me Margaret” teenybopper slobbering unrequited, requited, unrequited whining pile.
Is this for people over the age of twelve? Maybe it’s me and I bought a tween thing.

There are very few books I can’t bear to finish. Horrid plot, cheesy dialogue..and extremely de/emasculating concerning men. Also every character is described by their color.. painful.

I have liked some of the other books by the author but this one just was extremely boring. The main character is a bit pathetic and hard to really root for. Maybe this was a deadline filler..?

Littrells accent is painful
Revisado: 04-15-22
The story is fine but WHY did she have to
have an American try to do an Australian accent? Either find an aussie or move the homebase to the us…as that is immaterial to the plot- while the TERRIBLE attempt at an accent is soo distracting. Ow.

Just horrible
Revisado: 08-07-21
It was free and i still got ripped off. Main character is not really likeable ..she thinks she’s hilarious for no reason, which is weirdly irritating.
The writer uses the word “quipped” about a hundred times, mostly for phrases that are NOT quips. Also grating.
The narrator sounds a bit like a nasal robot. The dad is supposed to be Italian says “saloody” a lot a dinner..
There’s more but you get the gist..

Revisado: 05-01-21
First 2/3 of book is very slow. The end is catchy- but hard to keep the names straight at that point as there are so many people at play that you don’t really care about. Or were referenced long ago or not developed.
Also the liberal thread is off putting to people who or somewhat conservative.

Super slow
Revisado: 03-13-21
This could have been condensed into 1/3 the time it took to listen. I listen on 1.7x speed and still had to hit forward at times. Also these people think that all a southern accent is - is that you pronounce “light” or anything that rhymes with it like “laaht.” Truly grating. It really is disappointing because the first knitting book was pretty cute. The difference may be that in the first book (Neanderthal..)Janie’s character was actually developed and fleshed out, as well as interesting. Maybe if Sandra had OCD, or something similar, it would have been fun.
