When the Las Vegas's Riverboat Casino starts to burn down, bald, overweight Ricky Smith nosedives five floors into the pool. Great Summer Read!
Revisado: 06-12-05
I got more than I bargained for on this one! I purchased the book based on the other online review... and I'm so happy I did! If you enjoy books about the inner workings of casinos, gambling or even if are just a fan of books with action, snappy dialogue and characters from all walks of life... then this one is for you! Similar in style to the writings of Janet Evanovich' "Stephanie Plum", John Sandford's Prey series, or, yes, even Elmore Leonard (although most comparisons to the great Leonard pale in comparison). Light, fun, entertaining, and a good use of audible bucks!

Historia
In the 25th century, humankind has spread throughout the galaxy, monitored by the watchful eye of the U.N. While divisions in race, religion, and class still exist, advances in technology have redefined life itself. Now, assuming one can afford the expensive procedure, a person's consciousness can be stored in a cortical stack at the base of the brain and easily downloaded into a new body (or "sleeve") making death nothing more than a minor blip on a screen.

Best Sci-Fi/Private Eye Book of last ten years!
Revisado: 05-05-05
I read this one a few years ago and highly recommend. If you liked Ender's Game or Snowcrash... you'll love this one. I don't want to spoil anything about this book by putting details of this intricate plot in my review, but if you enjoy science fiction or mysteries... then this one is for you. Enjoy!

Very Entertaining
Revisado: 01-29-05
The amount of detail and insider information in this book is astounding. The author reads his own work in a very entertaining fashion. Absolutely entertaining read. This one made me look forward to my morning workout (that's when I can listen to audible books). I grew up watching old Cary Grant movies on TV and now I know the story behind the making of some of my favorite films. I highly recommend!

Historia
"If Robert Littell didn't invent the American spy novel," says Tom Clancy, "he should have." In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, The Company can also be listened to as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says ( Publishers Weekly).

Can't Miss !
Revisado: 10-09-04
Do you like action? Spy novels? How about History? This is absolutely the best book on Audible. You can not go wrong with this one. What is it about? About 40 hours ... old joke, but this one truly seems shorter. I DID NOT want this one to end. Can't say enough about this book. If you like this one, try "The Sisters" also by Littell. The CIA book to end all CIA books.
