This is by far the most messed up book I have ever read. I enjoy messed up stories, but this one was too much for me. I would not recommend this book to anybody. I almost stopped reading a few times. I knew there was child abuse in it, but it is not a trigger for me, and I can still handle reading about it. But this book was different. There wasn't just child abuse written in this story but GRAPHIC depictions of the abuse, detailed accounts of severe child abuse, mutilation, and torture. DETAILS of how they were actively being tortured. I honestly don't even know how someone could voluntarily write about stuff like this, I feel like this book just crossed a big line for me. Would never recommend this book nor will I read anything by this author again.
Also - the narration was AWFUL. Legit the worst narrator I have ever listened to.

I have always been a huge J.M. Barrie fan. The little white bird has so many layers to it, which includes the beginning story of Peter Pan. The narrater was excellent. I have read this book multiple times and decided to go the audible route for the first time, and I'm glad I did!

I don't write many reviews, but for this book, I felt that it was necessary. This book was so good!! The narrater did excellent. I was instantly drawn to this story from start to finish. It starts off as a seemingly nice fairytale-ish happy story, then it takes a very dark turn. It does start off a little slow but soon very strongly picks up. This story is a mix of a lot of different genres, it has a classic feel to it mixed with fairytale dark fantasy and horror. I loved the poetic and classic way it was written; it was very descriptive and I clung onto every word. This is the kind of book that I would love to see a movie for! This story is one that will stay with me heavier than most other books. I would be really interested in reading the original Winterset Hollow, the book within the book! Great job Jonathan Edward Durham, I can't wait to see your future works!
