The storyline fell off to a cheap romance novel. The US is falling and the computer nerd is getting laid in every chapter by different women. Not what we want to hear. Best part of book is narration.

Story great but reading not so much

We really enjoyed the first couple of volumes. But for some reason the last couple of volumes changed readers. This made the story painful to complete. Very monotone and just not very enjoyable. Great story but do not know if we wouldnt just stop at the end of the first volumes if we had to do it again. Very poor choice on someone's part...

My wife and I have listened to this genre of fiction novels for the past three years on audible while we travel. Most are difficult to listen due to the graphic language, so it was refreshing to hear/read from an author that did not believe that sort of foul language was necessary.
But... the fake southern accent from the narration became too hard to listen. We started laughing so much the story became insignificant. Why the author would use that makes no sense. As much as we enjoyed the story we would not purchase another if the narration were done by the same readers.
Just being honest, thank you.

He was a man of quiet faith and determined courage who lived by an unwavering code of honor. He was a firm believer that the good guys would win and the bad guys would lose, although it didn't mean there wouldn't be casualties or injuries in the process of winning. EMP survivor Chris Chandler wasn't one to back away from overwhelming odds, and as of now, the odds weren't stacked in his favor. One way or the other, people were going to get hurt here or killed.

Not quite as good as previous books

The first two books in the series were excellent. The story on the third seems to fall a bit with unrealistic situations and reactions to those situations. It seems to be a mix between a catastrophic EMP event and just a power outage. If a fourth book was written would I continue to read the series, yes, but I would hope that the writing would come back to the caliber experienced in the first two books.
