Historia
Thaddeus Walker Bowman Owens, the backup quarterback for the Chicago Stars, is a team player, talented sideline coach, occasional male underwear model, and a man with a low tolerance for divas. Olivia Shore, international opera superstar, is a driven diva with a passion for perfection, a craving for justice, too many secrets—and a monumental grudge against the egotistical, lowbrow jock she’s been stuck with.

I Wanted to Love It
Revisado: 07-03-21
I was really looking forward to this book. I have to say, I'm disappointed. The story was okay, but I didn't like the narration at all. I miss Anna Fields. Her narration of SEP's books was flawless. Sadly, she is no longer with us. When you hear the name Calebo pronounced differently by Nicole Poole, it took something away from the story for me. I wanted to love this book.

Historia
In the entire canon of tough-girl sleuths, gumshoes, PIs, detectives, and investigators, there's no one quite like Fritillary Quilter. A New York arson investigator, a sassy, fresh spirit with a nose for arson and an eye for dubious burn patterns, "Tilly" pushes the envelope of the traditional female investigator with a young, hip outlook and indefatigable zeal.

No Weeping Here
Revisado: 03-23-17
If you could sum up Weeping in three words, what would they be?
I want more.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I loved the relationship between Tilly and Ike. I wanted to hear more of the story and I often stayed in my car to listen when I arrived at my destination.
What about Anna Fields’s performance did you like?
I LOVED Anna Fields. I could listen to her read all day. You would never know that one person is voicing all those characters.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Intelligent wit. It made me laugh.
Any additional comments?
Looking for more in the series. Found book #2, but are Ike and Tilly in it?

Pluses and Minuses
Revisado: 03-14-17
What made the experience of listening to The Peacock Emporium the most enjoyable?
The narrator did an excellent job with this story. The story was okay. It was hard to figure out the main character, Suzanna Peacock. I didn't quite understand her until the end of the story. Judith Boyd made me keep listening.
What other book might you compare The Peacock Emporium to and why?
Really not like anything else I had read before.
What about Judith Boyd’s performance did you like?
I enjoyed her vocal characterizations. She did an excellent job.
Any additional comments?
It was difficult to understand Suzanna and then, finally, I got it. She always felt like a piece of her was missing and she had no idea why. It is like someone who is adopted and cannot quite fill in the blanks. Suzanna was frustrated and depressed. After a catastrophic event, she begins to try to figure it all out. It takes a bit, but if you stick with the story, it is worth it at the end.

If there’s anything they can count on, it’s each other. Clementine and Erika are each other’s oldest friends. A single look between them can convey an entire conversation. But theirs is a complicated relationship, so when Erika mentions a last minute invitation to a barbecue with her neighbors, Tiffany and Vid, Clementine and Sam don’t hesitate.

Real Life
Revisado: 09-03-16
Where does Truly Madly Guilty rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It was a good performance and a good story.
Have you listened to any of Caroline Lee’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
It ranked right up there with some of the best I have listened to.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I was anxious to hear about the reason for everyone's changes after the barbecue. Yes.
Any additional comments?
Not a big drama story, but more like real life. Not the best story by Liane Moriarty, but a good story overall.

I wanted to love it
Revisado: 09-03-16
What made the experience of listening to First Star I See Tonight the most enjoyable?
I always enjoy books by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Cooper Graham~ In my opinion, he personifies what a terrific guy would be.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I am so disappointed in the performance. I felt that it took away from the story itself. The pronunciation of Phoebe Calebo's last name was so different from other books. It takes away from the continuity of the story. I did not like the narrator's voices at all.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Maybe if I read it myself instead of listening to it.

Disappointed....
Revisado: 04-09-16
What did you like best about The Last Anniversary? What did you like least?
I liked the characters even though there were many of them. I did not like the narrator. The narration was monotone and almost put me to sleep while I was driving.
If you’ve listened to books by Liane Moriarty before, how does this one compare?
This book was disappointing compared to The Husband's Secret and Big Little Lies.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Heather Wilds?
My favorite narrator has, unfortunately, passed ~ Anna Fields. She used a variety of voices and was able give characters 'life'. Heather Wilds varied the voice she used for the same character in different chapters making the story hard to follow.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

If you could sum up The Nightingale in three words, what would they be?
strength, courage, heart
Who was your favorite character and why?
Vianne~ While I loved Isabelle, Vianne was the a character that was a quiet person who followed the rules. Isabelle was flashier and more outrageous. Ultimately, you can see how difficult it was for Vianne to step outside of "the box' to become such a different person.
What about Polly Stone’s performance did you like?
Polly Stone did a terrific job.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Don't ruin a great story with wonderful characters when you make the movie!

After After You
Revisado: 10-07-15
Would you consider the audio edition of After You to be better than the print version?
I did not read the book in print.
What other book might you compare After You to and why?
I am not certain what book I would compare After You to. I wanted to compare it to Me Before You since that was the first book, but it was not possible. This story goes in a totally different direction.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator spoke so quickly in the beginning of the story that it was hard for me to understand her. It almost seemed like she was racing through the story. Some dialog was spoken so quietly that I had to crank up the volume to hear the story.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It took me almost a week to listen to the story.
Any additional comments?
I was really looking forward to this book. I know that it is difficult to write a follow up to Me Before You and there were parts of After You that were excellent. There were also parts that were just okay. Although many of the characters were similar in both books, they were not as strong in this novel.

Good story
Revisado: 06-25-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The Ship of Brides to be better than the print version?
I did not read the print version.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved both Maggie and Frances. I felt for Frances who could not escape her past no matter what she did. It always seemed to catch up with her. Maggie's warmth and love for her family and her dog were so compelling.
Which scene was your favorite?
The captain's speech at the end of the book to the staff and travelers on the Victoria was my favorite scene. It showed how much the captain had changed from the beginning to the end of the story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Some of the scenes of this book were so funny and seemed to offset the sad scenes. You wanted to cheer sometimes when it seemed like a character "got what s/he deserved".
Any additional comments?
I loved the story and wanted more about the characters at the end. However, the author wrapped it up the way it should be. The story was about what happened on the ship. When we leave a cruise, we rarely continue friendships with those we meet on board.
