Historia
A new railroad line is coming to Hansen's Bend—and the Old West will never be the same. Especially for the Callahans. They've been running the local wagon train outfit for years. But now a pompous rail boss named Arbuckle wants to put them out of business. This big-city weasel mocks the Callahans' "slow-poke" wagons-and bets he can finish laying track all the way to the end of the line before Callahan's wagon train even makes it over the mountains. Callahan accepts the challenge—and gets gunned down before it even starts . . .

Historia
The sight of a rotting corpse hanging from a noose is enough to stop any man in his tracks—and Luke Jensen is no exception. Sure, he could just keep riding through. He's got a prisoner to deliver, after all. But when a group of men show up with another prisoner for another hanging, Luke can't turn his back—especially when the condemned man keeps swearing he's innocent. Right up to the moment he's hung by the neck till he's dead . . . Welcome to Hannigan's Hill, Wyoming. Better known as Hangman's Hill.

Incredibly underwhelming
Revisado: 08-10-24
I was excited to see a new Luke Jensen story. I much prefer his saga to the smoke Jensen books. This was not like the others though. Very little action and the gun play was extremely mild compared to other Luke Jensen books. I wanted to quit this book so many times but I tried to hold out faith that it would get more interesting toward the end. It did not. The narrator has a good voice but just doesn’t fit this script or the characters he’s playing. This book was a complete let down for me. I didn’t enjoy it.

Johnny Greenway was once a family man. A well-respected marshal who always played fair. Then his wife and son were killed by cutthroats. Johnny killed the killers. Then he hung up his badge and picked up a bottle. Now a shadow of his former self, he has nothing much to live for. But when he singlehandedly stops a bank robbery, he catches the eye of the banker’s daughter. She’s impressed by Johnny’s gun skills, and offers him a job riding shotgun. First he’ll have to stop drinking and clean up his act. But that’s not all that needs cleaning.

Another great Johnstone book. I was hooked from chapter 1 to the very end. George Guidell was the perfect narrator.

Historia
Flint Moran was fourteen years old when the Civil War ended. He was fifteen when his family bought a plot of land near Tinhorn, Texas. He was barely nineteen when he caught a pair of rustlers stealing cattle—and singlehandedly brought them to justice. How did a teenaged boy track down and capture two hardcase thieves without any help? That's what Tinhorn sheriff Buck Jackson wants to know. He can't help but be impressed by Flint's sharp eye and natural talent with a Henry rifle. So he offers to deputize the boy—tin badge, Colt Frontier Six-Shooter, and all—and Flint happily accepts.

nothing special
Revisado: 07-09-24
These Johnstone books can be really hit or miss. This one was a miss. The character interaction and dialogue was incredibly detailed but for almost no reason. This story has very few action scenes and is only mildly gripping. I found the main character very cheesy

Joey couldn’t imagine a better 13th birthday. He’d been given his first pistol and now was going to join his six older brothers on tomorrow’s job. They were going to trust him with covering their escape after robbing the bank and he was determined to do it right. He was immensely proud to be a Hogan, and his tough brothers were his heroes.

Very slow and predictable
Revisado: 09-12-23
This story was mildly vivid and unnecessarily long. The action was alright and somewhat descriptive but this can be described as a drama more than an anything.

Someone is terrorizing the Arizona border. Burning down ranches. Butchering travelers. Blazing a trail of bloodthirsty raids and robbing the railroads blind. His name is Melichus. A ruthless half-breed outlaw with a mile-long record of cruelties and crimes, he’s the most wanted man in the territory. And the massive price on his head has attracted the attention of every trigger-happy, would-be bounty hunter this side of the Rio Grande. Fantastic
Revisado: 08-08-23
I absolutely love the Luke Jensen series. A few of them aren’t as good because of the plots and narration but this was everything I loved. Jack Garret gives the best narration of these books. The
Descriptive he provides to the already detailed text is second to none. I was so happy when I came across this title.

Good Story. Great Narration

The Silent Justice books are good. They are well written and I enjoy them. Some parts of the story are mildly predictable and overly sappy.

Very predictable
Revisado: 03-23-23
This story had very little action and was very predictable. The theme of love between the two characters was way too sappy. I listened to the whole story hoping it would make an exciting twist or turn but it didn’t. I didn’t enjoy this one

Good, not great
Revisado: 02-24-23
The story was good if you like westerns, but was very predictable and unexciting. The narrator’s voice didn’t help bring the story to life either
