As a longtime ballroom dancer who started in my 50's it has been a passion that truly changed my life. DWTS is the reason I had enough courage to walk into a studio in the first place. The show made ballroom dance seem accessible, less intimidating, but most of all so much fun!

I was fortunate enough to attend several tapings at the NBC studios with VIP backstage access. What an experience that was! I got a taste of what it's like behind the scenes and couldn't wait for more. This podcast is what I've waited for-the perspective of a professional who spent years in the "summer camp" (good one Max) that is DWTS.

In this podcast Cheryl's insight into the behind-the-scenes of this iconic show are fascinating! Not at all salacious-more reverent-she clearly loves and respects the art, the show and the dancers and celebrities. She does tell it like it is though in a sensitive, honest way. I especially love her respect for ballroom and staying true to its form.

I'm such a fan of Cheryl and this podcast. Each episode has been filled with interesting content, most of which was new information for me. As someone who follows all the pros, some celebrities and even dabbles in Reddit there's not much I haven't heard. I especially love her weekly DWTS critiques-she's right on the money. I've listened to other "after shows", but Cheryl's for me is the most accurate-at least it's the one I agree with the most.

If you love DWTS do not miss an episode!

(P.S. would love to hear interviews with Karina Smirnoff, Val Chmerkovskiy, Derek Hough, and Mark Ballas. Bonus would be the legend, Shirley Ballas!)

As a mother I was to feel empathy, but...

This man is clearly traumatized, and maybe has not progressed emotionally past his age at his mother's death? In certain places I felt empathy for him, but it seems he didn't have the mental and emotional strength to be a part of the working royals and all that entails. That's ok, not everyone is cut out for a role even if you are born to it.

However, I couldn't help but feel I was reading information that I really didn't want or need to know. I don't care about an exchange of rude texts, or if two siblings had a tussle. Those things happen every day to many people. How many brothers have sibling rivalry? How many sisters-in-law don't get along? Nothing talked about here is out of the normal human experience IMO. What I was more interested in was hearing stories about his relationship with his grandmother and grandfather and his other family members, what it was like to grow up royal at places like Balmoral, Windsor, Sandringham.

Giving the world such a negative and critical view behind the royal curtain seems vindictive to me. What about the positive things that this family does? He doesn't mention those or try to build the family up. In fact, he seems intent to tear his family down. The only positive work he mentions in length is his own service in the military. If he wanted to find a way back to a normal relationship with family, this isn't the way to do it. Everyone including he knows that. That clearly was not his goal with this book no matter how many times he says so.

I'm so sad for this family. Because in the end it is just a family. Worse, my takeaway from this book is that I don't like the man Harry has become. Nothing in this book no matter how shocking it may have been (not really for me) changed my larger opinion of the royal family. As an American, I hold them in high regard, and believe they do positive things for their country and the world.

Where this book did shine was when he talked about his mother. He expressed his grief, and how it's impacted him over the years truly leaving him haunted and traumatized. I sympathized greatly with this and felt his humanity.

All of the "juicy bits" I had already read in the barrage of social media pre-release of the book, so they felt more redundant than shocking. The book itself was written well and was divided up in a way that flowed nicely keeping readers interested. Harry's narration definitely added to the drama of the book but could be a bit monotone at times. My overall takeaway though: TMI, empathy for Harry's loss of his mother. Harry has unresolved issues about not being William, but ultimately angry, sad and disappointed at his disloyalty to his family. That is a great character flaw.

Very well written. He is articulate, thoughtful, much deeper than I would have imagined. Particularly enjoyed hearing about his devotions as a father and a husband. Sounds like someone I would like to know and can't say that about many in his field.

Painful to hear the detailed accounts of abuse and coverup, but necessary for every Catholic.

What did you love best about The Mountain Story?

Story of loss, love, and how healing can occur even at the darkest of moments. One of the few books I've read that handles moving back and forward in time seamlessly. Beautiful story, tied up perfectly in the end.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Wolf-sympathy for the difficult life he lead.
