Rule by entitled people far away never goes well. It’s colonialism all over again and always comes as a big surprise when the colonials decide they are unwilling to continue to be slaves.

His work is leading General Technics to the forefront of global domination, both in the marketplace and politically - it's about to take over a country in Africa. Donald Hogan is his roommate, a seemingly sheepish bookworm. But Hogan is a spy, and he's about to discover a breakthrough in genetic engineering that will change the world...and kill him. I don’t know what the hell this author was trying to say, but it reads like a lunatic’s stream of consciousness. This was supposed to be a sci-fi classic and I suppose it might be if you drop strong acid before you start reading it. As for me I abandoned it after sixteen chapters of babbling nonsense, stupidity and invented words that made no sense at all. I don’t often bail on a book, but this one is not worth inflicting on anyone.

Not a bad story if you’re into post-apocalyptic stories. I found it difficult to read and stay with. It was too long and the payoff felt stilted.

Historia
On November 20, 1943, in the first trial by fire of America’s fledgling amphibious assault doctrine, 5,000 men stormed the beaches of Tarawa, a seemingly invincible Japanese island fortress barely the size of the 300-acre Pentagon parking lots. Before the first day ended, one-third of the marines who had crossed Tarawa’s deadly reef under murderous fire were killed, wounded, or missing. In three days of fighting, four Americans would win the Medal of Honor and six thousand combatants would die.

Bloody Tarawa
Revisado: 01-06-22
I was surprised and delighted to find this title as an Audible "free-be". It's one of the best regarded books on the subject.
Tarawa was one of the bloodiest battles in American history and the first seriously contested amphibious operation in the central Pacific. The lessons learned there allowed the Navy and the Marines to fight their way to Saipan, Guam, Leyte, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. This book shows the mistakes, missteps and what it took to win. It's a great, if sobering, story of a pitched battle fought well by both sides.

Revisado: 07-12-21
It’s a shame when a writer gets stuck and their formula has become boring. The Joe Ledger series may continue but, it has really been over for the last four books. The stinker just stuck a fork in it: it’s done.

Are all serial killers the same, or do they have different motives, methods, or origins? In this guide, we will answer those questions in the first section. You will learn about the background of serial killers, their childhood, and their thirst for blood. You will see that they are as different as the colors of the rainbow. They come in all shapes and sizes. The following sections after that will be devoted to some extremely notorious murderers: The Zodiac Killer, Donald Gaskins, Andrei Chikatilo, Patrick Kearney, and Dennis Rader.

They connect to Outland - an alternate Earth with identical geology, but where humans never evolved. The group races to establish control of the portal before the government, the military, or evildoers can take it away. Then everything changes when the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts in an explosion large enough to destroy civilization and kill half the planet.

boring, predictable PC craptacular
Revisado: 11-01-19
Zombie fiction is pretty much a genre unto itself. You can find a great deal better than this crappy, craptacular crap-fest. I absolutely hated it and did not finish it. It's derivative, it's PC and it stars a Mary Sue: all the BS trademarks that make millennial fiction completely worthless. Your first clue is zombies crawling out of a hole because... climate change, then Mary-Sue takes over and it goes downhill with all the usual cliches like insane, corrupt military officers, Mary-Sue knowing better than actual scientists what to do and a host of completely incompetent beta males. Save your credits for something that reeks a great deal less than this turd sandwich.
