Enthralling Book!

I was not expecting the mind-blowing twists and turns in this book! I could not stop listening to it. I ended up buying the book because I couldn’t keep up with the characters in the beginning, but once I did, I was a pass-go-collect-your-money and run to the ending! I continued the audiobook because i enjoyed the narrator. I kept guessing who the villain was, but was not expecting the surprise. I loved the characters especially Millie & Harper. I’m ready to read another book by this author!

Difficult topics, well written.

I has to take breaks when some of the topics. I found myself crying for Daniel and am grateful she did not offer more into his character because I don’t think I could have continued reading. Well written, very suspenseful with lots of unexpected twists and the villain is a true sociopath. The narrator did a great job with the different characters, and like I said, I cried for Daniel and I can still hear the narrator’s portrayal of this character.

Wow. Definitely need tissue for this book.

This book was definitely not what I was expecting. As a child of domestic violence, I wanted to stop reading this book, but I kept getting drawn back to it, and I am happy I did. I wish anyone who is a victim (or perpetrator) of domestic violence reads this book and can be like Lily. It’s a beautiful love story with a horrible twist that so many live and suffer with, many in silence. Very well written & narrated.

That last chapter, fireflies 💛

Where the Crawdads Sing was lovely and very sad. I cried especially with the last chapter. The twist left my jaw on the floor. I enjoyed this book very much especially the bond between Kya, Jumpin’ and Mabel. So many tender moments that helped ease the not so pleasant ones in Kya’s life. The narrator did a great job. The author did a wonderful job describing the scenery.

Hilarious and a lot of truth in this book!

Would you listen to I Heart My Little A-Holes again? Why?

I have listened to it three times already! It is hilarious and I make my friends who are new parents listen to certain parts while we are driving around. It makes them feel normal and takes away their guilt.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Of course Karen! She is supper funny! I was shocked how revealing she was in the "serious chapter".

Have you listened to any of Karen Alpert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I follow her blog, Baby Sideburns. The book is a tidbit on her daily life as a mom.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A mom's raw view of what being a parent really feels like some days.

I hope she writes another book!

Excellent ending!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Great storyline! I love how Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke are so descriptive with the characters and scenery, they put the reader in the story. It keeps you captivated from start to finish!

What other book might you compare The Cinderella Murder to and why?

I'd suggest you read "I've got you under my skin" by Mary Higgins Clark as most of the characters are the same. I liked that book a lot which lead me to the Cinderella Murder.

What about Jan Maxwell’s performance did you like?

I like her voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! Absolutely! I wish I could have!
