Historia
The ratings and views are off the chart. The fans just can't get enough. The dungeon gets more dangerous each day. But in a grinder designed to chew up and spit out crawlers by the millions, Carl and Princess Donut need to work harder than ever just to survive. They call it the Over City. A sprawling, once-thriving metropolis devastated by a mysterious calamity. But these streets are far from abandoned. An undead circus trawls the ruins. Murdered prostitutes rain from the sky. An ancient spell is finally ready to reveal its dark purpose.

Historia
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Historia
Most organizations and individuals work in the context of annual goals and plans; a 12-month execution cycle. Instead, The 12 Week Year avoids the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking. This book redefines your "year" to be 12 weeks long. In 12 weeks, there just isn't enough time to get complacent, and urgency increases and intensifies. The 12 Week Year creates focus and clarity on what matters most and a sense of urgency to do it now. In the end more of the important stuff gets done and the impact on results is profound.

Informative and actionable
Revisado: 03-29-24
I work in quarters, so I already knew how powerful 12 weeks could be but this book took it to a new level. Overall a solid book on productivity, and one I can see myself returning to.
Note: Religion was directly referred to in the text, (just in case that that isn’t your thing) but it didn’t overwhelm the book or obfuscate the overall message.

Historia
In Armageddon, acclaimed New Testament authority Bart D. Ehrman delves into the most misunderstood—and possibly the most dangerous—book of the Bible, exploring the horrifying social and political consequences of expecting an imminent apocalypse and offering a fascinating tour through three millennia of Judeo-Christian thinking about how our world will end. By turns hilarious, moving, troubling, and provocative, Armageddon presents inspiring insights into how to live our lives in the face of an uncertain future.

Perfect for writers new to the genre
Revisado: 02-13-24
This was a great overview of the romance genre. It was mostly aimed at beginners, though writers at any level could benefit from listening to it, in my opinion.

Historia
We live in a world that’s obsessed with talent. We celebrate gifted students in school, natural athletes in sports, and child prodigies in music. But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distance we ourselves can travel. We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn’t knock, there are ways to build a door.

I didn’t expect to like this as much as I did.
Revisado: 12-03-23
That’s not to say I don’t enjoy Adam Grant‘s work. It’s only that generally these types of books tend to lose me at one point or another. That wasn’t the case here. Grant used anecdotes to express his points that were not only interesting but emotional and inspiring. They kept me listening.
My husband’s going to read/listen next and I know he’s gonna love the knuckleball part.
Grant narrates, and he does a good job of sounding like a human, which, of course he is, instead of like an actor or robot. In fact, I’d recommend the audiobook over the printed version.

Abrupt ending

I had to check to see if I’d accidentally hit fast forward at the end. The narration was good. The story felt like the opening of a good novel, not a complete short story.
