Historia
Every generation, a journalist has looked deep into the heart of the nuclear military establishment: the technologies, the safeguards, the plans, and the risks. These investigations are vital to how we understand the world we really live in—where one nuclear missile will beget one in return, and where the choreography of the world’s end requires massive decisions made on seconds’ notice with information that is only as good as the intelligence we have. Pulitzer Prize finalist Annie Jacobsen’s Nuclear War: A Scenario explores this ticking-clock scenario.

Historia
Up until now, the Korean War has been the black hole of modern American history. The Coldest Winter changes that. Halberstam gives us a masterful narrative of the political decisions and miscalculations on both sides. He charts the disastrous path that led to the massive entry of Chinese forces near the Yalu, and that caught Douglas MacArthur and his soldiers by surprise. He provides astonishingly vivid and nuanced portraits of all the major figures.

who's bright idea was it to put a soundtrack onto this audio book? I'm listening to the story and all of a sudden CSI music starts playing in the background. Seriously?

Historia
On the early morning of March 16, 1968, American soldiers from three platoons of Charlie Company entered a group of hamlets located in the Son Tinh district of South Vietnam, located near the Demilitarized Zone and known as "Pinkville" because of the high level of Vietcong infiltration. The soldiers, many still teenagers who had been in the country for three months, were on a "search and destroy" mission. Three hours after the GIs entered the hamlets, more than 500 unarmed villagers lay dead, killed in cold blood.

Viewpoint of Liberals Who have Never Been to War
Revisado: 11-22-23
this book is presented from a liberal viewpoint; presenter was overly emotional. Unless one has served in the military in war one should not be commenting on what happens in war, and combat, in any capacity.

Historia
David M. Potter's Pulitzer Prize-winning The Impending Crisis is the definitive history of antebellum America. Potter's sweeping epic masterfully charts the chaotic forces that climaxed with the outbreak of the Civil War: westward expansion, the divisive issue of slavery, the Dred Scott decision, John Brown's uprising, the ascension of Abraham Lincoln, and the drama of Southern secession.

From A British Perspective
Revisado: 02-21-22
As it was largely an American war, paid for and fought largely by the U.S. it should have been told from an American. That being said Max Hastings did a pretty good job of capturing the bios of the major commanders and leaders; while getting across the observations and stories of the common soldiery. Max Hastings has become the military historian of the mid to late twentieth century now that John Keegan has passed.
