Partisan analysis but expected.

GS can’t resist to start the book off with a finger to the chest of former President Trump. The same tired talking points from the same tired media personalities. Overall I love the history of the NSC and Situation Room and heard stories I had not heard before. Those were great, but again GS praises democratic failures or lays blame elsewhere and can’t resist attacking Republican presidents.

Facts Cited and Very Detailed Book - Our Soldiers, Military, and Civilians Deserve Much Better

What a detailed, and well documented book in chronological order of of the build up to an incredibly sad day. One of the saddest parts includes the former MIL officers, who hold positions in the Biden administration, yet they play on words, misdirect facts and interpretations of what was happening on the ground in Afghanistan. How can you just “mic-drop” American and Afghan lives like this? Still years later there’s no accountability for ineptness.

I like to hear the old Russian American spy stories. So many things going on at the cold war period. And the mutual respect for each countries abilities. Discouraging that our own egos and selves get in the way of progress. Which was detailed in the read.

Great career! In many facets of government. Given a lot of responsibility in many positions.

Mr. Vickers gushing portrayal of Obama administration officials fits in line with all the other haters of conservative leaders. Hayden, Clapper, Brennan. Kind of like a broken record on that front. Stolen elections. Etc. but with the start of his career and his efforts in the 80’s was especially interesting.
