What did you like best about Tap Left? What did you like least?

**I was given this free audio book review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this review.**

i have recently found this author and realized that she is becoming one of my reliable authors . looking for something you have maybe not heard about, but from an author you rely on, and read/listen anyway? that's a reliable author, and that's what A Zavarelli has become to me.

I'm not normally a fan of the back and forth, especially when I know emotions are involved for one of our characters, so you know they're going to get hurt. it's almost like you go in on eggshells, because you're just cautious of when it's going to happen. we can see this one coming from a mile away.

while I did find some of the storyline obvious, I really liked the way it unfolded. being single, I automatically related to the dating app aspect. I loved how Dare kept secrets from her all this time. and while we think we know why, we don't really know . we don't know all of it. . . until we do. then all that hate you have building up toward Dare is really misdirected, and hate isn't what we should be feeling at all.

there was only one thing that didn't jive for me. so Dare has to take her shopping to help her wardrobe. yet, when she has enough and walks away, she shows up days later in new clothes and a new attitude. how did that happen? how'd she change so quickly without his help? that part I didn't catch. other than that, these two have such a hate *uck, I really love you relationship. and he makes you mad and pushed all my buttons when he was trying to break her . then when they talk about the past, I started to take all those feelings of frustration and direct them to Ryan, exactly where they belonged. part of me was kind of hoping That Guy was really him, after faking his death so long ago, just so they could put him in his place and kill him themselves. then after realizing I thought that, I kind of wonder if I need therapy. :/

and when Graciela stepped in, it was like my momma bear instincts stepped in. why in the world does every one shit all over this girl and treat her like trash when she didn't do anything wrong? see----> momma bear.

the storyline on this was great. I am not too much of a fan of this narrator. there is just something about her narration and pronunciation, it's overly breathy and it's just not my cup of tea. because I'm not a fan, it does pull me from the story. but I like this author enough to know I need to stick it through bc the story is totally worth it . I wasn't wrong here.

What did you like best about this story?

the deception and love

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

she's overly breathy when she narrates, maybe cut down a tad

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

possibly

I've recently learned of Mariana Zapata and I feel like my book world is so much better because of it. she writes such amazing stories. they're so real you can feel it as the story unfolds. and this may be some of her best work. it may just be my favorite of hers, and maybe even the year.

and the narrator, I want to listen to every books she's narrarated, she's incredible.

these two together really knocked this out of the park

I struggled with the beginning of this book. the way it was written almost came across like someone was reading an outline. it was very cut and dry, very stiff. in all honesty, all flashbacks came across like this, even part of the epilogue. but once we got past that part, the book was really good. the history between our characters, the way their paths cross again, how they have to fight to be together, how he has to fight a war to get her and keep her. Not only that, once the war is started, the truths that are unveiled are crazy. especially how everyone is linked together, but also who double crossed them .

I'm not gonna lie. I'm so surprised in how quickly mouse adjusted and healed mentally and emotionally from what she went through. it may have been hot, and Gunner may know how to please a woman, but her mind sure did heal from what he did super quickly.

the writing style, at times was rough, stiff almost. but , like I said, one you get past that, it really is a good, well written MC book. the storyline was good, characters were great, and the love that grew between the characters was nice to read. I'm still a little confused about Skye and the epilogue... but whatever.

Would you try another book from Kristen Ashley and/or Mackenzie Cartwright?

of course!

talk about a complex relationship sheesh. I loved Knight, so I was excited to get into Creed. something about this one didn't get to me like Knight did. I do love how KA writes her alphas though. and the ending ... love it

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

okay. so I've finished the audio. I have found there are things I both liked and disliked about it. maybe dislike isn't the right word. they just didn't jive right for me. maybe that's a better way to explain it.

I really like the idea of signing the contract to save someone she loves. I mean, it's only 6 months right. but... but.. but... how does she not recognize the voice? it's not like she's never crossed paths with it before. and that. that was my biggest hold up. once that happened, it kind of held me back on the rest of the book. I mean, it took him using her first name for reality to come crashing down? that's it? I mean, I get it, it's fiction, but... it just doesn't jive.

once she knows that part of the truth, the game really starts to get confusing. cat and mouse. hide and seek. peekaboo. games , games ,everywhere. who's telling the truth? who committed the crime? who's hiding what? I mean questions and games around every corner, you just never know who to trust. once you think you can trust him, a door is unlocked and you can't. as much as you want to, you just can't. you never know who you can trust because it seems like everyone's involved in some sort of game all the time.

I liked the twists and turns , and darkness between our two lovers. I'm not gonna lie, some of it was extremely hot . okay, a lot of it was, so Ms Zavarelli definitely brought it when it comes to the best between these two. it was dark and twisted, and erotic.

I am not a fan of cliffhangers, but I feel like we at least got some answers before our story cut off. I'm intrigued to see how this plays out and who ends up where.

I really think the narrator did a great job with this story. with everything she had to portray emotionally, she did a great job of making it seem realistic.

I can't wait for book two, I really wanna see how this plays out.
