Well read history.
Revisado: 05-17-23
Well read, written with the right overall tone to make it seem like a story. It’s knowing the truth of it that kept me there listening especially during the toenail torture. I’m in awe of the love of humanity in general of that WWII generation. I wish the story could have been a longer listen. That’s the only criticism I have. Well done.

Historia
In this short and intense period of the war, Churchill’s sense of history is profound. 'If the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say this was its finest hour.' In this second volume, Britain stands alone in combat against the mortal threat posed to civilisation, liberal democracy, and human decency. Between May 1940 and January 1941, the world witnessed some of the most spectacular military victories of all time.

Historia
With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.

I’ve listened to her reading of this lovely story several times. It’s light and pleasant to hear. Long ago I read the story of Anne with an “E” prior to watching any movie about same. I will say books are infinitely better. It provides details that there isn’t time for within this medium. If you love the story then one must understand the limitations placed on it when brought to audio or even video. Rachel has a lovely voice and it’s not necessary for excessive voice change to read a lovely story. In elementary school I learned to love the written word the joy of the story as our teacher read to us in one voice. Rachel chose her story well and it shows in the enthusiasm in her voice. Remember you can go anywhere in a book even to Prince Edward Island and Avonlea.

Historia
On a Long Island beach at dusk, Bob Mitchell and Janet Whitney conduct their illicit love affair in front of a video camera, set to record each steamy moment. Suddenly a terrible explosion lights up the sky. Grabbing the camera, the couple flees as approaching police cars speed toward the scene. Five years later, the crash of Flight 800 has been attributed to a mechanical mal-function. But for John Corey and Kate Mayfield, both members of the Elite Anti-terrorist Task Force, the case is not closed.

Nelson DeMille
Revisado: 05-29-21
Spectacular characters and plot. Master story teller. Mr. DeMille is my favorite author. I’m not exactly sure what makes one enjoy a book. I suspect there are a combination of things. The story line is great but as the author said in the interview times have changed and perhaps for me the story highlights has the reader feeling as if they are one with the author as part of that time before time’s changed our world.
The characters and plot keep me entertained. Detective John Corey keeps your nose in the book.
If you’re looking for a good yarn buy a Nelson DeMille book. You won’t be disappointed.

Still charming and funny! Such a down to earth presentation. The oration welcomes you into her story and it warmed my heart. How ordinarily normal in a wonderful way. I teared up a couple of times and laughed right out loud many times.
I’m sure to listen again. It was so much fun I’m all set to listen to another of her books! I definitely recommend “This Time Together”.
