Historia
Fresh off the battlefield, Captain David Ellsworth has returned home to discover the shocking and unwelcome news that he's the new Earl of Elmwood. Though David had no idea he was in line for a title, he and his sister must now navigate the snark-infested waters of the London ton. He knows how to be a soldier, an officer, and a brother, but he hasn't a clue how to be an earl. David will need all the help he can get. Even if it comes from the undeniably beautiful woman...who is the darling of the world he detests.

Use of AI voice readers. What I could stand to listen to was not a bad story but I could not bear that reader’s style. If there is such a budget crunch for readers, go to a local middle school, I’m sure a sixth grader could do better. Who hires these people and do they ever check the reading progress? The cadence was unbearable, so much so it led me to review the book. Please, if you’re going to take our money make it worthwhile.

Will only READ books read by this narrator...
Revisado: 03-23-23
If women had voices as shrill as those in this narration, all the dogs in London would have been barking 24/7. I tried to listen but my Chihuahua barked every time she heard that voice. Does anyone audition the narrators? Does the author have no say in it? Does no one listen to the narration as it progresses to critique it? Hard to believe no one listened to the first five minutes and didn't way WOAH, start over. If I were the author, I'd rather have print only versions of my work than to have people pan it due to the narrator. I gave narration a one star rating because zero stars was not an option, not only was the female lead's voice shrill but the accent was horrendous. I've heard good narrators use a North American accent whilst reading a book set overseas. When they're good, the accent doesn't matter.
I hate to be mean and hurt LR's feelings but I work hard for my spending cash and to have it wasted like this is frustrating.
UPDATE: I felt so bad about being critical of the narrator that I clicked on her name and listened to several samples of other works she has read and they weren't half bad. I think it was her approach to this one that did it in, and, strange to say, she may actually be British.

Historia
Did you know that tarot used to be a game played by royals that was lost to time? It was later unburied and eventually shifted to being one of the most popular forms of divination, untouched for decades. Shelly O’Bryan’s Tarot Reading for Dummies includes not only a crash course history of tarot reading but also everything a beginner could possibly need to learn to read tarot cards. Even if you're a different skill level, from novice to absolute expert, you can still find additional information and a handy layout for interpretations with this audiobook.

VERY informative but...

this book really needs an accompanying pdf due to all the information. It's a nightmare trying to find anything specific. Print/ebbook would serve better since there is no pdf.

As a drama watcher I wonder what Netflix is waiting for! Enjoyed both Of Lily’s books I listened via Audible Plus but would have purchased the second book if it had not been included. An aspect that also appealed to me is that both books are written in CANADIAN English. Many authors switch to American English so it is refreshing to read words we speak every day I.e. washroom instead of restroom).

When it comes to the holidays, no story brings us back to the true spirit of giving like O. Henry’s classic "The Gift of the Magi". So this year we’ve asked some of your favorite Audible narrators—Audie Award winners Katherine Kellgren, Oliver Wyman, and Jonathan Davis—to bring to life this timeless tale, plus two more of O. Henry’s gems: "The Cop and the Anthem" and "The Last Leaf", in this holiday collection.

When they tore down the Ohio Pen I grabbed a small piece of the foundation because he wrote The Gift of the Magi while serving time there (supposedly for writing bad cheques). Thank you and may we all love and be loved as selflessly and devotedly as this young couple. Merry Christmas.
