Historia
I've lived most of my life as a recluse because leaving my house means being bombarded with visions of the possible futures that exist with every step I take. If that person crosses the road here, they live, but if they go to the traffic lights at the corner, they'll get hit by someone running the red.

Good but….
Revisado: 08-28-24
I loved the first one, this sister annoyed me quite a bit with her attitude. She’s suppose to be 40 but she sounds like 20, naive and just….always pessimistic yes but just, the why me, head in the sand kinda attitude for the whole book (or most of it) is just annoying to me. She’s just whiny. God at least it sounds like the last sister is better…I hope.

Historia
I’ve never wanted a relationship—especially not with a human. With my father demanding my return to Hell and a demon leaving dead bodies in my bookshop, now is not the time to lose my heart. One look in Oscar’s broken eyes, and I know I’m in trouble. Oscar’s been hurt before, and everything in me screams to keep him safe. How can I do that when I know being with me will only put him in more danger? More importantly, am I strong enough to walk away from him?

The book is fine but.....
Revisado: 03-21-24
I love Joel Leslie and that hasn't changed but I really had trouble with the second narrator. Every Time the character changed my concertration just didnt follow. He barelly had any inflections and his reading was runthrough, I could barely figure out the speech of each character . Honestly I checked the other books and I just Wont be ordering them because of that, its a shame really

Good but...
Revisado: 09-26-22
love this author but this story....way to much sexual references for the context of the story... I just couldn't get into it as much especially during crime scenes of horrible crimes or undercover. There was references to sexy body parts or erections every 4 sentences. Was just to much and made the book less about the investigation and crimes (which was to me a real topic of real life problems with the misunderstanding of bdsm) and more about sex, smut and lightheartedness which was jarring considering the book.

It’s been a full year since the mystery that brought together antique shop owner and part-time amateur sleuth Sebastian Snow with homicide detective Calvin Winter. Patience, sanity, and their very lives have been put to the test, but love has persevered. Although Sebastian is now New York City’s best-known busybody, he’s finished with crime solving and wants nothing more than to plan a romantic budget wedding.

alright but ...
Revisado: 12-29-21
so this isn't one of my favorite series and I'm not a fan of the Mc Sebastian Snow but I still bought the audio. This one though still had some loose ends like what happened with Calvin's brother? Where did he go and what the Hell. The mystery was kind of convoluted and weird, the basis was good though which was why I bought the audio in the first place but it just didn't do it for me. Also the other major crime detective and Rossi were kind of weirdly there. more the detective than Rossi but still. eh I'm not sure I'm going to buy the last one but the blurb seems interesting but again I have so many problems with Sebastian Snow..... I'll be thinking on it.

It’s Christmas in New York City, and all antique shop owner Sebastian Snow wants is for his business to make money and to save his floundering relationship with closeted CSU detective, Neil Millett. He soon finds himself caught up in murder investigations that echo the macabre writings of Edgar Allan Poe. New Author for me
Revisado: 12-14-21
I enjoyed this story, a new discovery for me. I had some problems with the main character, Sebastian Snow, his thought process got on my nerves quite a bit and the thing with Neill. I'll be buying the second book and giving it another shot.

Historia
Sometimes salvation comes from the most unlikely hero. When Tate Gillespie is marked for death for a crime he didn’t commit, his life crumbles. In a world where "justice" is meted out by a relentless military force, he’s going to need more than a mythical guardian angel. His life down to seconds, he’s saved by the mysterious X, a knife-wielding man he's never even met before. But who is X? Is he the man who threatens and kills without a second thought? Or the strangely gentle man who only seems to act that way around Tate?

not bad but...
Revisado: 06-10-21
so the book was ok not great. I had trouble with Tate, he was the stereotype of to stupid to live and I just found him annoying. X was interesting but the narration made him sound robotic and Tate just to peppy. I wish there was more history about the divide between the two cities and why it was so different. Just some weird unanswered questions.

interesting book
Revisado: 06-17-20
I usually love Lissa's books and have read many but while this one was interesting and I think I would have enjoyed it more with a different narrator. I found the narration flat and fast I actually had to put the speech speed at 70%
the only intonation was in the character speech the rest was pretty monotone and it made me struggle to actually connect with the character and story. actually Micah kinda annoyed me by the end. It ends in a cliffhanger and I'll probably buy the book just to know the end but not the audio if it's this narrator. He's going in my Don't Buy List

Abigail Swish's life is nothing to brag about: gang-ridden city, orphanage style accommodations, and a matron who's kinda on the evil side. Not that she has to worry about that for much longer. She'll turn 18 soon, and then it's goodbye compound, hello dangerous streets of New York City. Of course, as her luck would have it, she doesn't make it to 18 before her world is turned upside down. One ambushed meeting with an accent-bearing, sword-wielding stranger, and suddenly her entire life as she knows it is a lie.
