Historia
Jack Reacher wakes up alone, in the dark, handcuffed to a makeshift bed. His right arm has suffered some major damage. His few possessions are gone. He has no memory of getting there. The last thing Reacher can recall is the car he hitched a ride in getting run off the road. The driver was killed. His captors assume Reacher was the driver’s accomplice and patch up his wounds as they plan to make him talk. A plan that will backfire spectacularly . . .

Confusing plot, over dramatized in the audio.
Revisado: 11-13-24
Was eager for the next Reacher book, but was quickly disappointed and found that I was not looking forward to resuming my listening to the book. Plot was not well developed, seemed confusing, and the characters were not easy to like or dislike. Really bothered by the reading by Scott Brick who has been great in so many other books... he made every sentence seemed way too dramatic, like it should have an exclamation mark after it; seems like a small point, but to me it was really tiring. Overall, this was by far the least enjoyable book in the Reacher series.

Historia
US intelligence is reporting turmoil in the Russian navy. Their deadliest submarine, the Belgorod, has unexpectedly launched, and taken along with it a long list of questions. Who authorized the departure? What mission is it on? And, most disturbing of all, what weapons do the giant doors on the sub’s bow hide? It's been four decades since a similar incident with the Soviet sub, Red October, ended happily, thanks to a young CIA analyst named Jack Ryan.

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Best story that I have heard in a very long time!
Revisado: 07-09-24
I normally go for the "action, spy, thriller" type of books, but found this true story so much better. Well told story of boy/young man of true character that you really have to admire. Found and watched the movie on Prime and mentioned it to my son who lives in Seattle and found out he had just read the book and told me it was much better than the movie, so I read it to find out he was right.

Later books were much better!
Revisado: 04-03-23
Read this books many years ago, but first listen. Voice was not the Elvis of later audibles which were much better. Overall looking back Crais did a much better job with the later books in this series. Lots of filler in this book, could of easily left out a third of the dialog and not done any harm.

Historia
Back when Harry Bosch was just a rookie homicide detective, he had an inspiring mentor who taught him to take the work personally and light the fire of relentlessness for every case. Now that mentor, John Jack Thompson, is dead, but after his funeral his widow hands Bosch a murder book that Thompson took with him when he left the LAPD 20 years before - the unsolved killing of a troubled young man in an alley used for drug deals.

Better to read vice listen.
Revisado: 10-09-20
The overall story is just OK, not nearly as good last the early Bosch books. Harry seemed tired, and this is reflected in the entire book.
Besides just being a so-so story, I really found the audio off-putting. Titus of course was good, but he only spoke for Bosch and to narrate his thoughts, whereas Lakin spoke for everyone else, including all the other male characters, which just did not work at all.
