I failed to see the point of it all.

Big fan of the narrator. And I managed to finish the book. I’m not sure I would recommend anyone else do so. It had its moments but honestly I can’t recommend it.

Even a great narrator can’t make this work.

I picked this audiobook because of RC Bray. I was preparing to give it the benefit of the doubt. But with the duster characters in the guise of sudo US Marines, stumbling along a disjointed storyline. Well you just had to be there.

The story started well but became increasingly desperate with a disturbing finish.
The conclusion was a breach of faith. If nothing in the plot can be taken as fact then the entire story loses its credibility.

Sets a high standard. It will be difficult to go back to a single narrator after experiencing a full production like this one. Yes there are brilliant narrators that can pull it off, but after seeing what can be done with a full cast of talented performers it’s going to be tough to compete.
