I tried. I really, really tried. I'm a little over two hours in and I keep looking at how much longer. 12 and half hours more to go and I can't do it. The book is boring to me. I have no idea why Blue puts up with Grace's antics. What is it about her that Blue is drawn to? And I'm guessing that Blue is going to be chasing Grace the entire book or be hung up on Grace the whole book and I can't listen to that for over 14 hours.

As an aside, Wynn Malone's writing skills are good. I don't like this particular story, but I can tell she is a good writer. So, I'm going to search for another book by this author.

This had all of ARR’s typical story elements, but she crammed them all into a shorter story than I’m used to her writing. I think if she expanded the book, I would have enjoyed it more.

It had fun moments. There was a little suspense. So overall it was a decent read.

Have you ever been in the middle of something and think
"I DON'T WANT IT TO END!"

For me sometimes that feeling comes with sleep. Not that I don’t like being awake, I just don’t enjoy the getting up part.

Well, that’s how I felt about this book. This mother cracker book! I never wanted it to end. EVER. I originally said, wow, this book is almost 20 hours long. I’m not going to make it.
"GO ON WITHOUT ME!"

But once I pressed play, I lived in Verania. When someone interrupted my listening time...
"I WILL END YOU!"

Sam, Gary Tiggy, Ryan, Morgan, Justin, Pete, Randall, his parents, the king, and all of the periphery characters were awesome.

A tale of an unlikely hero from the slums. The story was hilarious, and Michael Lesley does a fantastic job narrating.

The story has adventure, magic, love and acceptance. Not the type of acceptance you think though. Typically, LGBT stories are about accepting your sexuality. One of the things I liked most about this book is how sexuality was normalized. There was no need to come out, there weren’t discussions about it, and nobody was ostracized because of preferences. You liked who you liked…end of.

Jillian Ramsey is sent to Mystic Bayou by the League to conduct research and prepare the world to accept mythological creatures. She catches the attention of the sheriff, Bael Boone, who is also a shifter with hoarding tendencies.

This was such a cute story. Amanda Ronconi spent time creating the town and the quirky people who live there. The author illustrated the tension between the shifters and The League well. The town needed the League's help but was reluctant to agree to everything that came with the help. So, an interesting dilemma.

Jillian and Bael were fun characters. However, Zed is my favorite. I’m so happy the next book is about him.

Finnie switches places with her twin in the alternate realm, not realizing her twin is up to no good. Finnie is now set to marry The Drakkar. Things in this Winter Wonderland are not what they seem and she has to fight for her life.

I think this is my first fantasy story by KA. I am pleasantly surprised. The world she created bloomed in my imagination with color.

There were some things that bothered me. I’m not talking about KA’s overuse of a few words or the childish speech patterns, I’ve gotten used to those types of things in KA’s books. This story was beginning to go beyond OTT Alpha. Parts of the story made me uncomfortable.

Overall, I liked it. KA created an interesting world with interesting people. I’ve never read a book about twins switching places in alternate universes, so this was new for me.

Lucy is not really trying to find a man, although she participates in online dating and meets up with the matches. She is a writer and uses this as research. Her latest online meetup, Quinn, was not what she expected. Lucy is not what Quinn was expecting either. They both come to the date with secret motives, but a romance ensues.

A fun, mystery. The characters were straightforward as well as the suspense. It had a bit of humor which added to the appeal. The group of women as supporters of each other and friends was a good addition.

I think the writing was too literal at times. Overall, I enjoyed it. I would definitely try something else by Rachel Gibson.

Smexy times with a side dish of plot

Trista's brother sent her to Jerico for help paying back a loan because Jerico owes her brother a debt. Trista is unaware that Jerico holds immense animosity toward her brother. Surprisingly, Jerico honors the debt and agrees to help Trista while secretly scheming to use her for his plot of revenge.

Erotica must not be my genre. This story had a lot of smexy times...Like a lot! If you deleted all of those scenes, the book might be 60 pages. Within those 60 pages, the author tried to do backstory dumps. I tried to absorb the information so that I can feel connected to these characters, but it felt forced and some of the info dumps were rushed. Then the story took on a juvenile quality with the girls in the locker room.

It's easy to see that the author spent time with the intimate sections, but the other portions of the book were not written with such care and therefore I could not connect with the story or the characters.

Lacey, an odontologist, is called to a scene where she discovers something harrowing from her past. Jack an ex-cop, also shows up at the scene due to his numerous connections to the discovery and the case. As things unfold, Jack realizes Lacey is in danger and swears to protect her.

The idea of the story is interesting, but it is laid out in a cut-and-dry fashion. The relationship building isn’t too fast, but it’s not realistic either. Unless we bring in Stockholm Syndrome.

The mystery is straightforward. No surprises. From beginning to end, any reader could layout what was going to happen. I think what the story lacked was creativity.

Shirleen has a complicated past. When she decided to cleanup her life, she figured she would raise two boys who weren’t hers and build a family around herself. That did not include her romantic life. However, Moses Richardson has other ideas.

This was a fun story. I liked Shirleen and Darius on the periphery of other stories. i was so glad Shirleen got her own book. KA told a story about redemption and forgiving yourself. Sometimes moving on in life starts with forgiving yourself.

Shirleen was not as edgy, but that was expected since she was no longer in that life. Also, some small parts felt like KA was slightly leaning into stereotypes.

Evangeline is suffering from an extreme phobia. Her psychologist recommends a nontraditional method of treatment. Ix is tasked with carrying out the nontraditional treatment.

This was a very different type of story for me. I had no idea what to expect. The suggested treatment seemed absurd and unrealistic. The relationship development should have felt unbalanced or even creepy, but it all worked for me.

I enjoyed this. There was a mystery quality to this story that had me on edge. We knew nothing bad was going to happen. It’s not a thriller, but it very much felt like a mystery. I wouldn’t call it dark, but it’s not your run-of-the-mill romance story.

The one thing that I didn’t like was the conversations about it being a game. It felt wrong somehow.
