Veteran writer lays a great path for crafting the best story from you inner voice. Dialogue sprouts from scene. Scene sprouts from act. There are so many great insights. Just get it.

Historia
Through hard work and, well, tenacity, Jack Black and Kyle Gass catapulted themselves into rock superstardom. But before they were the only two members of the best rock band on earth, they were just Jack and Kyle, two theater students finding their footing in Los Angeles. The D’s trajectory was a slow and steady rise from clubs to a guest spot on the hit show Mr. Show on HBO to albums to film to headlining festivals across the globe. But it wasn’t without its pains. This is their story. These are their Words + Music.

Some insight into the D
Revisado: 10-20-23
This is what I expected as long time fan. More chill, D. Still Tenacious, but just hanging and telling some stories of behind the scenes stuff fans would want to know. They also perform songs really well throughout.
All I have to say is “What’s next?”

Historia
Think of The War of Art as tough love...for yourself. Since 2002, The War of Art has inspired people around the world to defeat "resistance"; to recognize and knock down dream-blocking barriers and to silence the naysayers within us. Resistance kicks everyone's butt, and the desire to defeat it is equally as universal. The War of Art identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

I look forward to starting this again in a couple of days. It was simple, straightforward, uncomplicated, yet incisive and stirring. This book has given me a language to combat the resistance I feel when approaching my scheduled work. Thanks!

Historia
Master Italian sculptor, goldsmith, and writer Benvenuto Cellini is best remembered for his magnificent autobiography. In this work, which was actually begun in 1558 but not published until 1730, Cellini beautifully chronicles his flamboyant times. He tells of his adventures in Italy and France, and his relations with popes, kings, and fellow artists.

Easy to follow and understand, but of depth and quality worthy of such a grand master of sculpture and engraving.
Not only is this a wonderful picture of a time when we have little information regarding society, but a personal account of a truly fascinating person, to say nothing of his immense skill in the arts.
I have read and now listened to this autobiography. The narrator seems to carry a comparable voice to Cellini.

Always Know Your Opponent
Revisado: 11-26-18
Of the wealth of knowledge shared in this book, the most important to me was the urgency to understand you counterpart's perspective and express that knowledge. Without this, you are playing chess without being able to see the opponents moves.
Another key to success in negotiation that hit me pretty hard was knowing how the human mind reacts to certain offers and counters on an unconscious level. Bypassing the conscious is a powerful tool to have of you know the probable outcome.
Amazing book with decades of experience to back it up. Really well done.

With his trademark mirth and boundless charisma, actor Nick Offerman brought the loveable shenanigans of Twain's adolescent hero to life in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Now, in yet another virtuosic performance, the actor proves that despite being separated by a span of over a century, his connection to the author and his work is undeniable and that theirs is a timeless collaboration that should not be missed.

Simply the Greatest Satire of America's 19th Century
Revisado: 08-09-18
It would seem near impossible to read a Mark Twain tale of this proportion with voice and sentiment to impress upon the listener a mere smidgen of incisive candor that the author would have done himself, might as he was with pen or tongue. Nick Offerman, and his sensible disposition, conservative so it may seem carries this task to an unbelievable height.
What a joy and privilege it was to turn the next corner of this story and find yet another twist of fate. Metaphors thick as smoke, tongue in cheek, the story weaves a bright and uplifting understanding of our culture. It treads heavily on the power so many have lorded over others throughout time, and shed light on the unjust reasons they have so long endured.
This story has one laughing through pain and smiling for the ingenuity of a protagonist that steals the heart in every chapter. Hats off to Nick Offerman and the people who put together such a quaint production.

Most Important Book of Our Time
Revisado: 06-28-18
This is definitely the best book I have ever read/heard. From the explanations of how our Western religions and herding cultures co-evolved, to the understanding and compassionate outlook towards those who propagate the system of domination over people and animals, this covers the gamut. An easy to follow narration and explanation of problems and solutions gives way to the most profound message our age could hear. Personal and sociological, this book winds through the reality of breaking the bondage of cultural, familial, and religious pressures and resistance that everyone faces on the heroic journey resulting in veganism. Those who engage their conscience and intellect so as to arrive at personal change and growth beyond habit, misinformation and lethargy can recieve the reward of health, peace, and progress.

Well Done
Revisado: 02-20-18
I must say I am spoiled by Fritz Leiber. Almost nothing gets 5 stars from me. This book was good, but didn't stray far enough from the crowd. Reminded me of Terry Brooks a bit.
The main character is revealed in a slow and natural way. The story twists just enough. It was a bit safe, but fun and adventurous.

Historia
When Norm Macdonald, one of the greatest stand-up comics of all time, was approached to write a celebrity memoir, he flatly refused, calling the genre “one step below instruction manuals.” Norm then promptly took a two-year hiatus from stand-up comedy to live on a farm in northern Canada. When he emerged he had under his arm a manuscript, a genre-smashing book about comedy, tragedy, love, loss, war, and redemption. When asked if this was the celebrity memoir, Norm replied, “Call it anything you damn like.”

Full of Laughs and Funny Lies
Revisado: 08-30-17
I always thought lies were bad, but this old chunk a' coal proved that wrong. I can't actually say what was true and what was not, only that it was entertaining and endearing. The story moves well, and the characters are well written. Norm, as always, delivers his voice as good or better than ever.
Thanks for the laughs, Norm and co.
