Historia
A pool boy enters a secluded Bel Air property and discovers two bodies floating in the bright blue water: Gio Aggiunta, the playboy heir to an Italian shoe empire, and a gorgeous, even wealthier neighbor named Meagin March. A married neighbor. An illicit affair stoking rage is a perfect motive. But a “double” in this neighborhood of gated estates isn’t something you see every day. The house is untouched. No forced entry, no forensic evidence. The case has “that feeling,” and when that happens, Milo turns to his friend, the brilliant psychologist Alex Delaware.

Kellerman, Rubenstein at their best
Revisado: 07-23-24
Great writing in the Kellerman style. On of the best narrations I’ve listened to, changes in voice were perfect.

A great story, a Duluthian’s point of view
Revisado: 11-02-22
Being from Duluth, the fictional home of Jonathan Stride and his cohorts, I have been an avid listener to all of Brian Freeman’s novels featuring this cast of characters and my hometown’s diverse environment.
Brian Freeman has the ability to make every element of his storytelling come alive and add to mysterious adventure he is spinning. Being from Duluth is a bonus, but

Historia
A young blonde in sunglasses robs a bank and kills a hapless citizen. Across town, a corpse with a bullet shot through its heart is found in a locked room - with no gun at the scene. The crimes seem disparate, but to Martin Beck they are two pieces of the same puzzle, and solving it becomes the one way he can escape the pains of his failed marriage and the lingering effects of a near-fatal bullet wound.

Misrepresentative Review
Revisado: 05-26-22
I almost chose not to read this excellent novel because Audible allowed a reader’s review to be displayed that totally misrepresented the contents. That reader was disturbed by the vulgar nature of the novel. There was absolutely nothing vulgar about this thoughtful crime novel. What it did include was a somewhat heavy handed criticism of Swedish society, but the critique was understandable considering the well known communistic tendencies of the authors.
