Why are they called the Dark Ages?

I have often wondered why they're called the Dark Ages between the years 602:14 and 1500 ad. Now after listening to this book and learning what I'm learning about Muslims,
Muhammad and Islam I understand exactly why they're called The Dark Age.

The topic of this book is, in my view, one of the most important strategic combats that the world is facing today. Without an understanding of the combatants and their ideology there is no way to win the ideological war that Islam wages in its Jihad around the world. Only through understanding the Quran and the people who follow the teachings of its author, Muhammad, can Christians and people of other faiths stand in Freedom and liberty in the laws of their own Nation.
This book, well presented and well narrated will give the reader or the listener the understanding needed to make pertinent decisions to defend and Preserve our God-given liberties.
