This seems to have been written by a bitter incel. I'm bi and I'm down with learning to better seduce women and all, but from the gate, the writer seems to have a particular hatred for women. Unfairness, anger, wah! absolutely nothing he is saying about what women like has been true. I've in fact "red flagged" men behaving this way. It's not seduction, it's entitlement coupled with rage and misogyny. I'm upset I paid for this and didn't learn anything anything about actual seduction.

Feel good, campy romance
Revisado: 12-02-24
If you want a feel-good, fun, easy-to-listen-to romance, this is the one. The characters are fun, there's magic, sex positivity, and romance is celebrated among lovers of an advanced age. The only negative I have for it is the way the women's voices are presented by the male narrator. It isn't quite right and needs some direction. Otherwise, Xmas shenanigans for holiday readers.

Historia
Once upon a time, there was a king who passed. He left behind two sons, one beloved and one outcast. The older of the two was set to take the throne, but before he could, he had to find a queen to call his own. The younger one was known to be unruly and unhinged. The chosen queen was warned to keep far away from him. Beautiful and cunning, in the light is where she stayed. But late at night, it was the shadowed lands in which she played. Mistakes were made and secrets forged; forgetting duty and her sense. And while the new king had her hand, her heart belonged to the scarred prince.

wicked romance
Revisado: 04-28-24
Secret passages, poison, daggers, fires, rebelions, double crossings, and heaps of brutality are the back drop for an anachronisistic story of obsessive love. Beautifully written from two characters' points of view, the narration highlights this feature, making the story jump top life. Bonus: Don't miss the allusions to Hamlet/Lion King.

Historia
I never knew the cost of being Black in Corporate America. The price I would pay with my dignity and fundamental rights as a human being just to have a job that wasn't in a low-income sector. A job that had a satisfying career path and gave me and my family a chance to live the American Dream. Although the last five years of my employment were horrific and I suffered in ways most people cannot imagine, that's all behind me now because I proved systemic racism in my workplace, kept my job, and was offered a six-figure settlement, among other things.

Love the Protagonist
Revisado: 11-14-22
I love the protagonist, Ebony. Her whole family is so precious and I am happy to hear more of her origin story. The challenges she faces, the highs, the lows, and the depravity she deals with... it's with such grace too.
The voice actor does a great job communicating the necessary grace required to calmly formulate responses while under extreme stress. She does an excellent job of demonstrating the strength of family and their bond. The characters are wonderfully fleshed out by her voice.
I think the first book is the best, but I think that's allowable -- it's really fantastic.

Historia
Hush Money tells a story that is all too familiar to Black people across the globe with the case study of Ebony, a young Black woman who was living in poverty, struggling financially, and finding it hard to make ends meet. It describes how she obtained a job with an organization, after years of working dead end jobs, that put her one step closer to living the American dream.

I could not put this book down!
Revisado: 09-12-22
The story has me on pins and needles as I empathized with the protagonist and her growing conflict. I felt her emotions and felt charged to DO SOMETHING for her! So I kept listening. In some ways, if not the most important way, I identify with Ebony and her need and dedication to collect evidence and protect herself and her career. What a story of an every-day American hero making the world better for those to come.
It's also a reminder that we don't always know the adversity a person is facing and being an advocate and ally means listening and believing then doing.

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

Wonderful light and fun read
Revisado: 12-13-21
I enjoyed this immensely. Gracie reminded me of myself in some ways and I got a lot from her self talk. The plot was sweet, at times anxiety-inducing, and ultimately very satisfying. I love the flawed, multi-dimensional characters, the very real mix of complicated feelings and difficult decisions, and the times when characters say and do things they later regret because they just read each other wrong. So much like life. Excellent performance by the narrator, too.
