Historia
Once upon a time, in the magical land of San Francisco, there lived a not-so-ordinary girl named Laurel Pettigrew. She was supposed to be the Chosen One. The plan was simple: She would vanquish the great evil Tybus in an epic battle. But destiny had other ideas, and Laurel's performance in the whole heroics department was a colossal flop. Now, instead of being a legendary hero, Laurel's the resident pariah of the magic realm. And what’s worse, the dark wizard Tybus swooped in, took over the realm, and forced all supernatural creatures to live under his tyrannical rule.

So wacky and fun!
Revisado: 04-12-24
This was a very fun, crazy fantasy story. The characters were so fun and I can’t get over Sean Aston saying some of the lines that he said in the audiobook. They were hilarious crazy plot, but overall it was a very fun book to listen to I will read more books by Felicia Day for sure.

Great, rollicking and thought provoking story
Revisado: 07-11-21
How could you go wrong with a Nicholas Sansbury Smith book read by R.C. Bray? Great story, full of action, but with interesting, well developed characters as well as a great story. Don’t want to drop any spoilers, so I will just say I highly recommend the book, and really hope we get to see more of this story. I hope it becomes a series like Hell Divers, where each book gets better and better.

Revisado: 07-22-20
I love the Hell Divers series, and this is one of the best in the series. I love the unique world the author has created here. The characters are instantly like able and hated, depending on their part in the story. No spoilers here, but there are some nice surprises. Some characters struggle with personal demons and doubts, making them seem so real. Highly recommend this book and the Hell Divers series by Nicholas Sansbury Smith.

Author never explained the biggest mystery.
Revisado: 04-28-20
I loved the back story, but frankly didn't care for the modern story and was hugely disappointed that the biggest mystery was never solved. Sorry, but 'I guess we will never know how it happened.' is a cheap tactic for a writer.

After the Final War, after the appearance of the Bug aliens and their enforced peace, Shining Smith is still alive, still doing business from the old scrapyard bequeathed to her by her father. But Shining is now something more than human. And the scrapyard is no longer just a scrapyard, but a place full of secrets. This life she has built, while empty, is predictable and safe. Until the only friend left from her previous life shows up, dead, in the back of a scrapped Tesla warplane. Clutched in her cold fingers is a note to Shining - warning her of a coming attack.

Interesting story, but needed more explanation.
Revisado: 01-26-20
Good narration, interesting story, but just not enough 'story' for me, personally. I like a lot more backstory and explanation. This felt more like a short story, that leaves you wanting more. So if you like short stories, you will enjoy it. Lots of action as well.

Historia
Tesser, the dragon of life itself, is one of seven: Earth’s primordial draconic guardians, destined to oversee its development and safety. Species rose and fell, and 10,000 years ago...Tesser disappeared. The golden dragon woke up this morning, buried deep beneath the city of Boston, with no idea how he got there, and no idea how humanity grew so fast and learned so much while he was away. He is lost, a fish out of water. Where is the magic? He’s got a lot of catching up to do if he’s going to find his missing sister and stop an incursion of daemons from beyond the Veil.

Really enjoyed this one. Great ending to trilogy.
Revisado: 05-07-19
If you like post-apocalyptic fiction, this is a great trilogy based on the Nicholas Sansbury Smith Extinction Cycle series. Set in that world, but following the story of New Zealands fight with the genetically altered creatures known as Variantsin. Loved the characters in the book, and the Lord of the Rings and other movie references were great. As a Nerd-Girl myself, i appreciated that. Also loved the Kiwi narrator's accent. Well done series.
