just as good this time as it was the last
Revisado: 10-14-24
I love this book. I think it is the best Stephen King novel ever written. I think one of the reasons for that, is that Mr King actually completed the novel. He actually ended the novel with an ending. He seems to struggle to do that in many of his other novels. But this one is perfect. I love that this is one of the best monster stories that I've read. I love that it is one of the best haunted house stories. I love that you don't see the monster until near the very end. This is the way a good horror story should be written. And it very much feels like something that was penned from the Lovecraft universe. I also love the way that Mr King invokes other senses to add to the mounting sense of Horror. I love the way that smells and headaches and feelings and tastes are all invoked hinting of something foul and evil. I'll be back to listen to it again in another couple years. like I do. I love this book. the performance is excellent; the book is also very well listened to at higher speed. And I cannot recommend this enough. Pick up a copy. Listen to it. Listen to it again. It is excellent.

Winning With the Circus!
Revisado: 10-06-24
I loved the book. Andy Circus is a great reader. I loved hearing him narrate the story. Some of the characterizations are obviously based on the actors/characters in the movies. But, expanded into Tolkien's original text makes the book very enjoyable.

a surprisingly well told story
Revisado: 06-13-24
I really think that Stevenson is probably following in the steps of Gibson and that he is now writing contemporary thrillers to back up his great science fiction work. I think that I am glad that I purchased this book and that I am looking forward to reading other books by Stevenson.

Historia
In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

It's supposed to be science fiction
Revisado: 05-07-24
I think this is a marvelous piece of fiction. I actually find this to be eerily prescient as to the world we are in today. I hope that people could read this for the warning that it is, and take actions to begin to think for themselves. are there those in this world who cannot produce for themselves? I think so. but we who give, give because we wish to not because we are compelled. the performance was excellent and I would have given the overall book five stars except for the fact that Rand was definitely a little bit off in her sexual practices, like the open affair she carried on with but, it is interesting to see how she predicted science would move in the future from that point at what she was writing in 1957.

My friends have done it again
Revisado: 07-15-23
As a friend of three out of four of the people involved in the creation of this book, I guess my review is a little biased. however, it was great to hear it done as an audiobook. as soon as I saw that it was available as an audiobook, I swooped it up. I am so grateful for what Tracy and crew are working on doing with role playing games in general to try and remind us that it is to be fun over bogged down by rules. even though I might not use the xd20 system, I will certainly be using bits and pieces of their suggestions to make my own game mastering better. I would highly recommend that everyone buy a copy of this book if they are serious about increasing their ability as a game master.
I did enjoy the narrator. I enjoyed that he worked at doing voices for characters. and I think that his overall performance was very good.
In the end, like I said before, I think everyone should have a copy of this book. maybe even if you're not a game master.

In Amped, people are implanted with a device that makes them capable of superhuman feats. The powerful technology has profound consequences for society, and soon a set of laws is passed that restricts the abilities - and rights - of "amplified" humans. On the day that the Supreme Court passes the first of these laws, 29-year-old Owen Gray joins the ranks of a new persecuted underclass known as "amps." Owen is forced to go on the run, desperate to reach an outpost in Oklahoma where, it is rumored, a group of the most enhanced amps may be about to change the world - or destroy it.

Historia
For millions of years, the part of the galaxy containing our solar system has been moving through a vast force field that has been inhibiting certain electromagnetic and electrochemical processes and, thus, certain neurotic functions. When Earth escapes the inhibiting field, synapse speed immediately increases, causing a rise in intelligence, which results in a transfigured humanity reaching for the stars, leaving behind our earth to the less intelligent humans and animal life-forms.

I love this story!
Revisado: 01-10-23
the performance is very well done. the reader does a pretty good job at mimicking some of the other voices that are not his own. I thoroughly love the story. I have loved the story for a very long time. and I like the fact that only one thing changes, the loss of inhibition on the efficiency of the neuron, and it Ripples and causes all sorts of things to happen. I think this is a very good example of what good science fiction should be.

Historia
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Revisado: 01-09-23
first of all, there could have been no better performer for this book than the author himself. Neil Gaiman is an incredible narrator and I could listen to him read the phone book. I think that the story presented the tales that Neil chose to use for this book, were the perfect stories and it makes one very good narrative. I enjoyed listening to this book and will definitely listen again.

Ancient Wisdom I Already Knew
Revisado: 11-29-22
I love the book period I spoke to a lot of the wisdom and values of things that I hold to be true. I find these rules to be psychologically wise and they, surprisingly, hold well with my religious beliefs as well. I have resolved to be a better man because of this book. Dr. Peterson is delightfully Canadian in his reading.
