Historia
We are in a small room with the vampire, face to face, as he speaks--as he pours out the hypnotic, shocking, moving, and erotically charged confessions of his first two hundred years as one of the living dead. . . He speaks quietly, plainly, even gently . . . carrying us back to the night when he departed human existence as heir--young, romantic, cultivated--to a great Louisiana plantation, and was inducted by the radiant and sinister Lestat into the other, the "endless," life....

I had listened to Interview narrated by Frank Muller which I loved. I also got the Audible version of Stokers Dracula, great. But I just can't get my head wrapped around Louis with the Dracula accent😆

This story is great. Its the lack of pacing, emotion, existential dread and tension in the narrators presentation that sinks it. I tried. I really did.

Historia
In the late 1930s, 16-year-old Billy Parham captures a she-wolf that has been marauding his family's ranch. But instead of killing it, he decides to take it back to the mountains of Mexico. With that crossing he begins an arduous and often dreamlike journey into a country where men meet ghosts and violence strikes as suddenly as heat lightning - a world where there is no order "save that which death has put there".

The stark depiction of every day broken poverty stricken humanity set in prose. Yet the sudden unexpected comedy of the "Watermelon Story" had me quietly laughing so hard I was shaking the whole bed, and woke my wife at 3 am. This one is on the wish list for sure.

Revisado: 11-13-23
Excellent Performance! I have to admit though that I wish there was a version done by Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L Jackson. Jackson's dissertation on "light you can hold , has a little weight" and Jones absolutely oblivion black hole dark face to face eye..."DO you UNDERSTAND ?" rebuttal was life altering. Therefore I would own both...no hesitation ...Well Done.
