Historia
Religion is a competitive business in the Discworld. Everyone has their own opinion and their own gods, of every shape and size - all fighting for faith, followers, and a place at the top.

Pratchett at his best
Revisado: 04-20-24
First off, the performance of this audiobook is masterful. Andy Serkis is a master.
As for the story itself, it's easily my favorite of the Discworld series. Pratchett explores philosophy, religion, and visits Ethics in a dialogue style narrative that allows the reader to truly ponder the nature of goodness, belief, truth, and meaning.
Let Om and Brother take you to the Discworld for a fun and thoughtful story that you'll want to talk about afterwards.

Historia
By all rights, Arch-swindler Moist von Lipwig should be meeting his maker at the end of a noose. Instead, Lord Vetinari, supreme ruler of Ankh-Morpork, has made him the city’s Postmaster General. Death may be preferable to fixing the Postal Service—a creaky, outdated institution beset by eccentric employees, mountains of old, undelivered mail Moist swears is talking to him, and a dangerous secret order. To restore the postal service to its former glory, Moist accepts the help of the tough talking and very attractive activist Adora Belle Dearheart.

Making the post interesting
Revisado: 04-20-24
I found myself continuously fascinated by the subtle lessons about economies of scale, currency, market forces, and corporate espionage that Pratchett includes in the story. Long gone are the days of Octarine fire and invisible dragons. Those have been replaced with grounded fiction somewhere between historical and fantasy. Pratchett's clever style and quick wit remain constant though.

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Geek's dream come to life, but...
Revisado: 07-05-16
Basically the fantasy of most socially awkward 15 year old boys turned into a novel, with all the pros and cons associated. The performance is really well done, but the story seems too scripted, like a rail shooter. It looks shiny, and much of it is fast paced and fun, but the actual story and character building is boring and filled with clichés. Still, I found myself liking the caricature friends of Wade and cheering to some extent.
best part: giant robot fight.
worst part: Wade whining.
