Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet.

Not the R.C. Brey performance!
Revisado: 02-28-24
Had the original read from R.C. Brey, but Audible apparently lost the publication rights to his read so they brought in Wil Wheaton to replace him. Dont, know if my disappointment with this read is the fact that it's not what I was expecting (R.C. Brey) or if Will Wheaton's voice just isn't suted to this book but I was disappointed right out of the gate and just couldn't listen past 30% of the book.

Just fun to listen to
Revisado: 02-28-24
First learned of this series from Nathan Lowell (The Wizards Butler) discussing his reads on his website, they are interesting storylines and each one gets better, they take an implausible position and develop into a character flaw and then a character trait. They are an enjoyable listen without investing a great deal of time building up a deep back story. Just fun to listen to. worth the time you will spend. Great for travel or relaxing in the evening.

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Sophie Feegle needs a break. Rent is due on her crappy apartment and she's halfway through her last loaf of bread. Sophie doesn't have big ambitions. She only wants a job that will keep her landlord off her back, enough extra cash for whiskey at the neighborhood bar and a bit of free time to hang out with the naughty old lady next door.

Historia
After defeating a Fae fanatic set on closing the portal between Earth and the magic realm, things are looking up for Sophie Feegle. She can finally relax, drink whiskey at her favorite ogre pub, and get back to the autopsy assistant job she loves. Maybe she’ll even go on a romantic date with a certain sexy fox-shifter. Yeah, right. Things never seem to work out quite the way Sophie wants. When Sophie recognizes the body on her autopsy table from a dream, her world is shaken again.

Enjoyable Listen
Revisado: 01-07-24
Is an enjoyable listen, could have done without the romance overtones, but the characters were well-developed, and the author takes a unique and pleasant look at a well-trodden storyline and makes it fresh and interesting. easy listen on a rainy day, looking forward to the next installment.

For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

Very Little Magic
Revisado: 08-08-22
Awesome story, this is not a story about magicians and their use of magic, in fact, wizardry only enters the story as the protagonist and provides some light-hearted moments.
I fully enjoyed both of the characters, they are well-developed and make for an interesting, storyline.

Historia
I played all those cool video games. I watched all those movies. I even read the books. In most of 'em, the hero shoots the bad guys, drives a sweet car, never gets hungry, and always seems to get laid by the end. Yeah. Whatever. I gotta be straight with you about why I wrote this journal, and it comes down to one thing, the apocalypse kinda sucks. It doesn’t meet my expectations at all.

Refreshing approach to the apocalypse
Revisado: 08-07-22
Dusty's Diary is a very refreshing read, no great drama just a creative look at the apocalypse through the eyes of a guy no one (including himself) would ever have thought could survive the apocalypse.
He humorously stumbles along from issue to issue using his diary to take future generations on a romp through his post-apocalypse life well reminiscing about his somewhat mundane life in the pre apocalypse.
I loved the character, his nonchalant attitude towards his situation, and his ho-hum approach to survival, all the while digging through the remains of his neighborhoods homes and dodging zombie like survivors (this is not a zombie book), and trying to track down the one other human he thinks he saw.

A battle cruiser is forced to engage its star drive to keep from being destroyed at the end of a battle, not knowing where they will end up. Damaged and ending up in Earth’s solar system, with no communication with their home world and no parts, they have to wait until the Earth’s technology advances enough to help them. Then, far from the world of Darrk, it’s up to the last engineer to repair the ship and get them home.

Not as advertised
Revisado: 12-14-20
This book advertises itself as a sci-fi; lost aliens surviving on earth until their last living engineer can repair their ship and return home, what it actually is, is a different take on vampires. the aliens can live forever (unless their heads are cut off) by sleeping for years in a sarcophagus, they require a particular enzyme to survive that can only be found in human blood, so yeah vampires!
The writing is most definitely from a first-time writer and as expected somewhat weak and a little pedestrian to say the least.
The story is interesting as it moves along but definitely not sci-fi, it's fantasy. So if your looking for a vampire book this can be an enjoyable light listen, But if you looking for true sci-fi look somewhere else.

It has a dark past - one in which a number of humans were killed. A past that caused it to christen itself "Murderbot." But it has only vague memories of the massacre that spawned that title, and it wants to know more. Teaming up with a Research Transport vessel named ART (you don't want to know what the "A" stands for), Murderbot heads to the mining facility where it went rogue.
