Leaves me wanting more
Revisado: 08-11-23
Not the ending I expected, but looking forward to the next book. I love these characters and the idea of the US as a monarchy really makes you ask what if? The narrator is fantastic!

The second book in this series was so filled with twists, turns and backstories. The cast was so good. I’m so sad that I have to wait until November for book three!

Revisado: 01-22-22
This book lived up to the beauty and power of the first novel, one of my favorite books of all time. I laughed, cried and was caught up I the beauty of the language.
Lin Manuel’s narration was so well done.
I highly recommend this book.

Really missed Stephanie Daniel’s Narration

A good story, but it lacked some of the sparkle and fun of the novels. The narrator left a lot to be desired.

Historia
Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship - the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

Beautifully Written Coming of Age Story
Revisado: 07-15-20
I am so moved. The tears on my face are still drying. I know Ari and Dante are characters that have forever impacted me. An incredible novel that speaks to the pain of growing up and becoming a man. The pain of not being able to talk about your feelings or to express them and what happens when you finally do express them. It shows the beauty of love on all levels. “To be careful with people and with words was a rare and beautiful thing.” Incredible performance by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
