Historia
The use of entheogens, or psychedelics, is out of the closet today. LSD, psilocybin, MDMA, and other medicines once associated only with the counterculture are now being legally studied for their healing properties. But as Rachel Harris shows, the underground use and study of psychedelics by women dates back to the Eleusinian Mysteries of ancient Greece. Harris interviews the modern women elders carrying on this tradition to gather their hard-won wisdom of experience.

A very compelling investigation of an incredibly important topic that I relate to deeply on both a personal and professional level. 5 stars for the bravery to explore these waters.

Historia
When we think of fungi, we likely think of mushrooms. But mushrooms are only fruiting bodies, analogous to apples on a tree. Most fungi live out of sight, yet make up a massively diverse kingdom of organisms that supports and sustains nearly all living systems. Fungi provide a key to understanding the planet on which we live, and the ways we think, feel, and behave.

I’m a tough audience, and this book is out of this world… absolutely righteous. As someone who is well-educated in a multitude of disciplines (including mycology), who is neurodivergent thus highly selective due to extreme sensitivity, I am difficult to please. This work of art, however, is a brilliantly ingenious masterpiece. Bravo 👏🏻

Historia
At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over working in teams. It is to introverts—Rosa Parks, Chopin, Dr. Seuss, Steve Wozniak—that we owe many of the great contributions to society.

Fantastic book
Revisado: 11-11-22
If you’re a “social anxiety” type like I am, this book will hit your pain points and speak to your soul. Very well articulated ideas supported by case studies and data. Very well presented arguments.

I didn’t like this as much as “A World Without Email”, some of these bits felt very pitta and type A personality. However the last 1/4 of the book brought me back in and in fact was most interesting to me. A good message overall, but some of the advice in the first half might be too much neuroticism for some. Good message overall and in agreement with majority!

Historia
These are the stories that defy conventional logic. The proverbial vanished without a trace incidences, which happen a lot more (and a lot closer to your backyard) than almost anyone thinks. These are the missing whose situations are the hardest on loved ones left behind. The cases that are an embarrassment for park superintendents, rangers, and law enforcement charged with Search & Rescue.

Thought provoking but a little too long
Revisado: 01-27-21
I listen to a fair bit of this book and eventually stopped. While the stories definitely make one pause and think especially those who spend time outdoors, it did start to be a little overwhelming after a while the story after story. I wonder if there could’ve been a different way to tell this tale about cold vanishing with a shorter number of case studies. I just couldn’t get myself to finish it

Enjoyed listening to this book – I got a lot of insight into Elon musk and also more of his philosophies and personal history. These sorts of subjects are very inspiring and was a great listen short and sweet.
