Historia
Romance can be a little complicated when you get sucked into a wormhole. Just ask high school English teacher June Flint. One little solar flare happens and suddenly you find yourself 85 years in the future. Eighty-five years from your dream job. Your ailing mother whose only companion in this world is you. Your favorite stuffed-crust pizza from DeLucia’s on Sunday nights. But when June’s cell phone inexplicably picks up a signal, she’s able to call back to the present—more specifically, four weeks before she accidentally time traveled.

Fun, sweet, easy listen. I was looking for an audiobook to listen to in the car with my daughter and thought we would give this one a try. Happy I stumbled across it.

Reckless writing
Revisado: 09-08-22
Sharknado, the first Twilight movie (not the book), Beverly Soda, hangnails, and this book are all uniquely painful. But, it was like one of those pimple popper shows. I just couldn’t stop listening. The narrator needs to work a lot on her accents (a lot) but enunciates well. The storyline was, okay, but the descriptions are repetitive. Everything felt vague and disjointed. Strange strange book.

Revisado: 08-24-22
Great listen and I’m excited about the next book in the series. It reminded me a smidge of one of my favorite books, but then took off to a completely different path. I couldn’t stop listening until it was done, 3.5 hours past my bedtime.

Historia
It’s been three years since the Virgil County High School Massacre. Three years since my best friend, Sarah, was killed in a bathroom stall during the mass shooting. Everyone knows Sarah’s story - that she died proclaiming her faith. But it’s not true. I know because I was with her when she died. I didn’t say anything then, and people got hurt because of it. Now Sarah’s parents are publishing a book about her, so this might be my last chance to set the record straight. Except Sarah’s martyrdom is important to a lot of people, people who don’t take kindly to what I’m trying to do.

Amazing

I listened to this all in one day, and it was amazing, the only thing I would’ve changed is the voice actor on the males, but otherwise I loved it

One book- in 3 parts
Revisado: 02-21-22
I discovered this trilogy through searching for Jennifer Ikeda, who is one of my favorite narrators. I enjoyed the first book, The Gathering, and listened to it in one session as it’s not terribly long. I was surprised though at how it came to such an abrupt ending. I did really like the storyline so I wanted find out what happened.
I then moved onto the Calling, which again ended abruptly, but even more so. It’s only 228 pages in paperback- so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. But it really feels like it was only perhaps Part II of a book, not the end of one. I really wanna know how this story ends, so I will probably wind up buying the third installment, but I may see what Kelley Armstrong audio books I can find to see if she only chopped things up in the series, or if it’s something she does on a regular basis.
As far as the story goes, I really think it flows well, a good mix of excitement and character development. While some elements are predictable, everything hasn’t been, so it has definitely been an enjoyable listen that I could do while getting other things done. I definitely think the storyline could go further.
These really feel like these three books are novellas that could be put together easily- and start a series such as Cassandra Clare and Marissa Meyer have done. Perhaps I will find that in some of Armstrong’s other writings.

Revisado: 10-16-20
I’m not normally a mystery lover, but this book and it’s a accompaniment book ‘The Dispatcher” have definitely made me change my mind about that.
Well written, well performed, interesting intelligent; I have nothing but good things to say about this book other than the fact that it just isn’t long enough. It’s books like this that really makes me glad that I am an Audible listener.
