What a welcome gift--a pleasant, unique story that swept me away for a couple hours today. Billy Crystal is a national treasure and the exquisite cast executed his work to perfection. I adore the concept that I'm listening in on an actual play. I look forward to more of this type of entertainment.

Jessi reminds me of a young Nora Ephron--witty, smart writing. This is laugh out loud funny. I hope she writes a book on parenthood.

Just What I Needed Right Now

This was a wonderful book to listen to as I'm dealing with a similar life situation. Kim expressed herself beautifully--there are so many of us out here trying to figure out how to deal with elderly parents with dignity and grace. Sounds like she's doing a good job of it--right down to denying parents the right to drive, lest they kill someone, etc. It's wonderful to have siblings to help share the problem. Thanks for writing this Kim!!

Loved this Book--I've Never Seen Star Trek

I've listened to all of William Shatner's books--he's a believable guy and I didn't want to miss this one even though I've never watched Star Trek. I'd heard of their friendship and wanted to hear Shatner's side of the story. I was always impressed by Leonard Nimoy and his devotion to the arts but this was much more than the superficial fluff that one hears on t.v. entertainment shows. This was real insight--right down to the last conflict that couldn't be changed by Bill's communications to Leonard. Retaining the great memories that were the true essence of this relationship is what it was all about. Makes me want to go call a friend right now.

Nice Surprise

Okay, I knew this book wasn't going to make me bend over in laughter like Tina Fey's Bossypants, but I was delightfully surprised at how many times I did laugh aloud. Rachel told many of the backstories of her life with her own type of humor and I found myself quickly returning to the book whenever I had a quiet moment to myself. I love authors who narrate their own books and seek them out. Glad I took a chance with this one. Saturday Night Live was in the background of my teen years and I always admired this woman's talent. Rachel, your leading lady role awaits you!

Amazing Writer

This book was a delight--the short stories were unique, surprising, and beautifully written, not to mention laugh out loud funny. Novak is a genius and I will seek out his work in the future.

Boudain Mellowing With Age

I devour books like this, no pun intended. I'm a foodie that enjoys Anthony's sharp writing and humor. This book was so much more enjoyable to me than Kitchen Confidential. He's an older, wiser man and it's reflected in a more introspective writing. I especially enjoyed his thoughts on vegans--so funny and true. Also, I love the fact that this book was narrated by the actual author. That makes a huge difference to me when selecting books.

A Delightful Escape

I'm a huge fan of Ellen's sweet humor and I enjoyed getting away from the world's problems for a few hours while listening to this book. It sure helps to have the actual author as narrator.
