Historia
April 2011: On a remote mountaintop overlooking the remains of the Iranian nuclear weapons program, Azad Ashani witnesses a Quds Force demonstration of a capability meant to upend America’s war in the Middle East. Ashani, director of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security and Irene Kennedy’s former back channel to the Iranian government, recognizes the demonstration’s true significance, and the nation-ending conflict it will provoke. Alone, Ashani stands no chance of preventing this rush to madness.

Solid and entertaining
Revisado: 11-06-24
Great series and each novel is done well regardless of the author. My biggest critique is there was often too much time spent describing the mundane and took multiple chapters to get to an action that started 3 chapters before. Reminds me of Clancy novels where too much detail can tend to drag out the story and lessen the impact. I appreciate the new author and his approach and wish him well in shaping and continuing the Rapp story. I do miss the prior narrator and his raspy voice which made me feel Mitch Rapp in person. Tne new narrator started out a little uncomfortable early on, but I could tell he was getting used to it more and more. Its was a bit interesting going historical, but I look forward to a current state of Mitch Rapp. But still a definite good read (or listen). Thanks.

The Last Kingdom is one of the most successful historical fiction series of our time. The novels tell the epic story of the birth of England and introduces one of the greatest ever fictional heroes: the iconic Uhtred of Bebbanburg, the Saxon-born, Norse-raised warrior and rebel. In this lively compendium, Bernard Cornwell revisits Uhtred’s realm, illuminating elements of the Anglo-Saxon world he couldn’t fully explore in his novels.

Fitting end to the Lord of babbanberg
Revisado: 05-06-24
I continue to yearn for more Uhtred's stories, but this seems a fitting end to a wonderful series. I'm amazed that Bernard Cornwell continues to keep each story fresh and intriguing. I've learned a bit of history out of each of his works, whilst history, typically type cast as boring, yet these stories keep me interested and entertained. Great performance by the narrator who obviously has a fabulous skill. The attached PDF is full of recipes and cookery I've never even imagined. Wow. Thanks for the amazing Uhtred journeys.

In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

An unsung Heroine
Revisado: 04-20-24
It takes courage today to stand up to the evil villainy of politics (and men) today. Thanks, Ms. Cheney, for having courage and honor. May time reward your steadfastness to the truth. This book is very informative and only confirms what I've heard and seen. Some may complain about Ms. Cheney narrating her own book, but that made it much more genuine, IMO. To those whose minds and hearts are hardened, take comfort you may be saved by courageous people like Liz Cheney, assuming you take the time to read or listen to this book. Maybe enough will understand the danger that he former President and his cadre present to our democracy. Our Republic is better than one person, but it only takes one powerful person to endanger it. The People have the ultimate power to preserve it and each of us should exercise it with duty, honor and courage. Thank you, Liz Cheney!

Gaia is dying. That, at least, is what Dr. Lionel Scott believes. A renowned expert in tropical and infectious diseases, Scott has witnessed the devastating impact of illness and turmoil at critical scale. Society as it exists is untenable, and the direct link to Earth’s death spiral; population levels are out of control and people have allowed disarray and disorder to run rampant. While most are concerned about deadly disease, Scott knows that it is truly humanity itself that will destroy Gaia.

Revisado: 04-20-24
Great book as usual by John Sandford. The topic is very scary, but happy at the ultimate outcome. A well-done performance by Mr. Petkoff and, of course, a great story by John Sandford kept me listening intently. I'm hoping the next book is a simple law and order one, this topic was intense. Thanks, Mr. Sandford for keeping me on edge, allowing me to enjoy every minute of it.

This eminent Harvard psychiatrist and Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer risked his career to investigate the phenomenon of human encounters with aliens and to give credibility to the stupefying tales shared by people who were utterly convinced they had happened.

What an amazing man Dr John E Mack
Revisado: 02-09-23
I've always been intrigued by Dr Mack, but never really knew his story. I thought this was a well written and very interesting biography, in a fashion. Dr Mack rubbed shoulders with some amazing people of his era. Sad to hear how Dr Mack died, yet interesting how people reacted, and the belief Dr Mack reached out to each. Maybe it's a way they truly processed his death, or who knows. Overall, the voice performance was solid, and I was never distracted by the narrator's various voices. Interesting how the scholastic community is full of weirdos, Dr Mack having some of that, but maybe that is how some geniuses act. He had his problems, but I appreciated his passion in whatever he did. The stories of the abductees were quite interesting to say the least. On a side note, and a common theme in other books, is Carl Sagan had a super inflated egomaniac who didn't seek the truth often standing in the way of truth. I think Dr Mack stood as a giant over dinosaurs like Sagan, although he did do some great things, just his ego crushed his ability to do more. Great book. I wish Dr Macks books were on Audiobooks. Thanks, Ralph, for this work.

Historia
William Barr’s first tenure as attorney general under President George H.W. Bush was largely the result of chance, while his second tenure under President Donald Trump a deliberate and difficult choice. In this candid memoir, Barr takes listeners behind the scenes during seminal moments of the 1990s, from the LA riots to Pan Am 103 and Iran Contra. Thirty years later, Barr faced an unrelenting barrage of issues, such as Russiagate, the COVID outbreak, civil unrest, the impeachments, and the 2020 election fallout.

About time to hear the inside story
Revisado: 04-09-22
Despite the naysayers, William Barr is his own person, not a Trump puppet. I appreciated understanding Mr. Barr's journey in the government, his approach to law and how he handled his relationship with President Trump. Very interesting story and I think to know and understand the person is to appreciate their value. I thought the voice performance was excellent and it felt like Bill Barr was telling it. The story kept me interested, although law can be pretty dull, yet this helped me understand why Bill Barr took certain legal positions. I really wish and hope people, who want the real perspective, will take the time to read/listen to this story. Thank you Mr. Barr for your courage and contribution to our country.

I've read all the books and have seen all of the Sharpe's films. It is satisfying that this story has been written to tie up the lose ends. Richard Sharpe (& Patrick Harper) is indeed one of my most favorite historical fiction characters. Thanks Mr. Cornwell for creating such adventure and enjoyment!

Once Russia’s richest man, he now resides in splendid exile in London, where he has waged a tireless crusade against the authoritarian kleptocrats who have seized control of the Kremlin. His mansion in Chelsea’s exclusive Cheyne Walk is one of the most heavily protected private dwellings in London. Yet somehow, on a rainy summer evening, in the midst of a global pandemic, Russia’s vengeful president finally manages to cross Orlov’s name off his kill list.
