Historia
Angela Merkel has always been an outsider. A pastor’s daughter raised in Soviet-controlled East Germany, she spent her twenties working as a research chemist, entering politics only after the fall of the Berlin Wall. And yet within fifteen years, she had become chancellor of Germany and, before long, the unofficial leader of the West. In this “masterpiece of discernment and insight” (The New York Times Book Review), acclaimed biographer Kati Marton sets out to pierce the mystery of Merkel’s unlikely ascent.

Great woman with a point of view
Revisado: 02-16-22
Even though I don’t agree with the author’s or Angela Merkel’s assessment of America under Trump, the story is a point of view by someone with huge regrets of her country’s history and vulnerability to repeat that history. She is admirable in her attempts to justify globalism over unique attributes of nations. Yet like all

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Great poet and storyteller Matt McConaughey
Revisado: 12-31-21
I think Matthew McConaughey is authentic and surprisingly philosophical and witty. He is from a humble background but never humble and unapologetic for not being and so I found his story compelling and well told.

Historia
During his first historic run for the presidency in 2016, Donald Trump made an impassioned plea to the Black community. "Give me a chance", he said. "What the hell do you have to lose?" According to Kathy Barnette, Black Americans have nothing to lose, except for crime ridden communities, neighborhoods that have become shooting galleries, more social welfare programs, and the mocking indifference of the Democratic party.
