Historia
What do we believe? And in God's name why? Lewis Black has the answers. Or at least his answers. He survived Hebrew school and a bar mitzvah (barely), was a 60's college student who saw the parallels between religious rapture and drug-induced visions (even if none of his friends did), explored the self-actualization movement of the 70's (and the self-indulgence it engendered), and turned a cynical eye toward politicians who don the cloak of religious rectitude to cover up their own hypocrisy.

Historia
Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

I ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE IT
Revisado: 05-29-14
This was the longest 7hrs and 22 minutes I've ever had to spend listening to a book. I mean Mark Hammer was totally in the moment for 7 hours. The drawl was unending. There was not one character that spoke at a quick pace. It was sleep inducing. .....
But I have to say it's a good story ...

Historia
Echoes of My Soul relates the inside story of how Mel Glass, an assistant district attorney under the legendary DA Frank Hogan, took it upon himself to investigate the Career Girls Murders in Manhattan and another murder in Brooklyn, believing that the accused man, with an IQ of about 70, had been coerced into confessing murders he did not commit. It meant, of course, embarrassing the DA’s office and the police if they withdraw the charges of a confessed killer but Mel was convinced of the wrong being done and DA Hogan told him, "Find the truth, Mel."

AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM
Revisado: 09-21-13
This book answers so many questions about Tanenbaum's own experiences that are brought to bear in his Butch and Marlene stories.
This book, however, stands on its own as a cornerstone to the real life heroes of The Office of The District Attorney of New York County with due homage to "Mr. District Attorney", Frank Hogan.
Personally I don't think there will ever be another like him. This book is a keeper!!

LIONS AND PANTHERS ... OH MY
Revisado: 11-11-12
Well, if you haven't already gotten your fill of John Corey, you might as well jump in for this one. Especially if you like the idea of being dragged across the god-forsaken Yemeni countryside. It was a hard trek for me, John and Kate, and his nemesis the CIA ... Yes they're all in his mind and then ... oh well, sit back and enjoy great gobs of Yemeni history as the team pursues "The Panther."

Historia
Jerry Broadfield thinks he's a good cop. But now he's been charged with extortion - and his former buddies in the NYPD would like to see him laid out on a morgue slab for squealing to a committee on police corruption. Suddenly, he's got a lot of enemies, and when a dead call girl turns up in his apartment, his troubles get even bigger. Broadfield screams "setup," but nobody believes him - except ex-policeman, now unlicensed PI Matthew Scudder. Because Broadfield turned traitor no cop is going to give Scudder any help with this investigation, so Scudder's on his own.

Revisado: 03-21-12
Indeed a masterpiece of storytelling. No motion picture could tell all the details of this book. But then movies serve a different purpose and manner of storytelling. This is a long book worth every penny ...John Lee is a great narrator, holding steadfast throughout, to deliver every nuance of this classic story. Ours to enjoy forever.
