Historia
Freddy Stern, a twenty-one-year-old cashier, has lived a plain, albeit harsh life. Having been orphaned—twice—he's spent the last ten years working and staying out of trouble. His only aspiration is to save enough money to become an archhuman. His dream gets the jump on him when he barely survives a near-death encounter and finds himself in possession of 1% Lifesteal, a bizarre talent with numerous contradictions and just as many uses.

MC ruins this one
Revisado: 04-16-25
DNF at 65%. The MC is unbearable. His personality is all over the place without any growth. One second he is scared and whiney, the next he is cocky and blood thirsty but at the end of the day he is a slimy, spineless turd.

Historia
In just seven days, the world will crumble. The System's Descent will usher in a new era of chaos: wild animals mutating, monstrous creatures emerging, and the cessation of modern technology. Humanity will be left defenseless. Drew Wright knows none of this. At least not until he is rudely ripped from his bed and thrust into a white room to undergo a taser-happy ‘Tutorial’. Turns out, he is one of a thousand randomly selected people to be forewarned of the approaching apocalypse. Now, he faces the delightful task of convincing his wife and mother of the devastation hurtling towards them.

It’s okay
Revisado: 04-27-24
The story is very average and the necromancy takes a back seat. Not sure if I’d pick up the second book.

Nothing like the first book
Revisado: 03-08-24
This one is pretty much nothing but a non stop sermon about religion mixed with a crappy teen romance. It doesn’t read anything like the first book. The action is barely there, the pacing is excruciatingly slow and truth doesn’t even feel like the same character.

Historia
I guess trying to catch the bus with your laces undone isn’t such a smart decision after all… One fatal collision later, and I’m facing my judgment. As it turns out, I’ve been a lazy sob, and my short, uneventful life of playing games and getting up late wasn’t worth much. And so I don’t qualify to move on to the afterlife. I try to argue to the goddess in front of me that I do have skills, that it was hard work playing those simulation and management games. But she will not concede. In the end, I manage to get the benefit of the doubt, and a wager is made.

Not Litrpg
Revisado: 12-17-23
The book itself is alright but the part that bothers me is that this isn’t litrpg. It barely even qualifies as Gamelit. You end up sitting through an okay story to get a few screens about a town that the MC can’t really modify.

Another great story from Xander Boyce
Revisado: 07-17-23
I usually don’t like litrpg where the world is in a vrmmorpg but I have this book a shot because I love the red mage series. I was pleasantly surprised with how great the story was. The real world exists and does fuel the MCs drive to play the game but it doesn’t overwhelm the actual time in the game. The MC treats the game as if it is his real world and I liked that a lot. As for the narrator, it’s not often you have a female narrator paired with a male MC but I really liked how Andrea did. She’s easy to listen to and does a good job separating characters. Overall, I loved this one and will 100% be picking up the next book when it comes out. Im also looking forward to freshman drive when it hits audible.

Great story but feels like just a prologue
Revisado: 06-28-23
I really liked the story, characters and world. The main character actually acts his age and makes smart choices. My biggest gripe is that the book feels like a VERY long prologue into the story. It never really felt like it picked up. The point where he finally set out for his adventure is the end of the book.

Feels completely different from the first book.
Revisado: 04-14-23
This one unfortunately felt very different from the first book. This one added a ton of romance, it’s not terrible but I personally find it boring. The two main characters also spend a ton of philosophizing about good/evil, right/wrong and a bunch of other things but it takes up a good chunk of the dialogue and most of it is hypocritical. On top of all that, the carnage and fighting I loved in the first book is a lot more sparse in this one. So to me it feels like the theme of the book flipped completely from what I liked about the first. I probably won’t read the third.

Historia
Surviving the first days of the apocalypse, William is a wreck and hiding in an attic. The daily acid storms, floating elementals, and bizarre mutated animals are the least of his problems. The reality-warping apocalypse has rules and a system much like those in video games. To survive, he must learn how the new uncooperative system works, choose a class without any real knowledge of what it does and create a place safe from the spawning horrors.

Poor writing
Revisado: 02-22-23
MC is supposed to be in his 50s but acts like an edgy toddler with anger issues. Litrpg and base building elements are extremely light. Considering what the name of the book is, I thought we would get more building and detail on what he is doing but you get “he made a courtyard or he made apartments”.

Historia
Felix had risked everything to stop the threat of the Unending Maw. Except instead of death, he and his Companion Pit were transported to the deadly Void, a place far worse than the Foglands. The Maw is there with them, bonded somehow to Felix in a way none of them understand, but all of them hate. The three must navigate the desolate expanse of the dark Void, contending with voidbeasts, marauders, and the creeping influence of the Maw itself. It will take everything that Felix has—and more—merely to survive, let alone escape. All choices have consequences.

Boring, bland and 100% a filler arc.
Revisado: 07-14-22
This book is boring as hell and I only finished this one because I liked the first so much.. I thought maybe the adventure in the void would be short or at least interesting but it’s bland as hell and the MC let’s himself get pushed around by everyone. Considering the void supposedly sucks the strength out of everyone and he is fresh from the I it side, you would think he would at least try to stand up for himself. The first book had him isolated from the new world and that wasn’t too bad but I was really looking forward to him interacting with it, not getting thrown into a different kinda isolation.
