The Woven Grace Of A Captivating Story
Revisado: 11-23-24
I could not wait for this to be released. I watched for months and waited with anticipation. I bought it and then I inexplicably waited to start listening. For days and then a week I waited. I knew as soon as I opened it to begin that I would race through it and have to wait the months or years before Nicholas Sparks would give us another masterful reality masked in a tale. It was worth the wait. I did race through it. I cried in the end. It was THAT GOOD.

Throughout his thirty years of work as a mindset expert and leadership coach, Erwin Raphael McManus has been obsessed with these questions: Why do some people succeed despite having all the odds stacked against them? How do others achieve the unthinkable, only to watch their lives slip away? Are there mental structures for failure and success?

Mindshift is a pivotal book about pivoting mindsets into a different gear. Edwin McManus does the reader a significant favor in reading the book himself. I always feel inspired when I hear him communicate and this book only adds to the inspiration.

Historia
From the New York Times best-selling authors of America's First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton - a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. In this haunting, moving, and beautifully written book, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza's story as it's never been told before - not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.

Captivating and Engaging
Revisado: 03-08-24
“My Dear Hamilton” sweeps the reader into the life of the 18th and 19th centuries and into the beguiling lives of Eliza and Alexander Hamilton. Having read “First Daughter” by Stephanie Bray, I eagerly devoured this magnetic work. Bray combines excellent historical research with factual evidence and dramatic license based on clear emotional intelligence. I would replace dry history books with this type of excellent historical fiction novel if I were to be a professor of history. This moves beyond dry dates, battles, and casually lists to tell us the story behind the story. I will read everything Bray writes. She’s THAT good.

Rich History Through A Crucial Lens
Revisado: 02-23-24
History becomes personal narrative in this rich, emotionally fused masterpiece. I studied Jefferson extensively in university life, but this gives the emotional and relational “story behind the story.”

I Speedily Read This Because I Wanted David To Overcome!
Revisado: 11-20-23
You will be engaged and challenged in every way.
Be careful. Once you start it up, you won’t want to turn it off. I even fast-forwarded to the end within the first hour of reading the book because I wanted resolution for David for the abuse and neglect he endured.
It is profound but understandable.
It is illustrative without being exhaustive.
It is contextualized according to the expertise of the author, but extends into every arena of life with ease.
It is authentic and genuine without gushy-ness and self-therapy.
It will inspire your life for positive change to change the lives of those you encounter.

New York Times best-selling author Dan Heath examines how to prevent problems before they happen, drawing on insights from his innovative behavior research, as well as hundreds of new interviews with unconventional problem solvers. Most of us spend our days handling a deluge of pressing issues. We’re so accustomed to managing emergencies as they strike that we often don’t stop to think about how we could prevent crises before they happen. Why stop at treating the symptoms when you could develop a cure?

Historia
In our self-help, DIY culture, we love the idea of improvement. We make-over wardrobes and restore houses and commit ourselves to better habits. But we're still left feeling empty and not-quite-enough. That's because what we need is not an upgrade but a complete upending of our lives. We need to be reborn. And it's not something we can do by ourselves.

Inspirational Connection
Revisado: 01-01-23
Clayton King connects everything and everyone with his love for God and the good news of Jesus. With remarkable, clear parallels, Clayton ties the people of the “then and there” with those of the “here and now.” This book is riveting and I listened to it all in less than two days (and turned it off only because I had to sleep).
