Historia
In the rugged Pacific Northwest lies the Olympic National Forest - nearly a million acres of impenetrable darkness and impossible beauty. From deep within this old growth forest, a six-year-old girl appears. Speechless and alone, she offers no clue as to her identity, no hint of her past.

Interesting subject matter.

Loved the story, but the narrator’s voice made me constantly keep turning up or turning down the volume depending on the character. That gets irritating .

Historia
Six years after four family members died of arsenic poisoning, the three remaining Blackwoods—elder, agoraphobic sister Constance; wheelchair-bound Uncle Julian; and 18-year-old Mary Katherine, or, Merricat—live together in pleasant isolation. But one day a stranger arrives—cousin Charles, with his eye on the Blackwood fortune.

It’s ok however, I am glad I listened to it, but I liked the Haunting better.

Totally disappointing
Revisado: 03-12-23
Bummed I saved a credit for this. Nothing like The Book Thief….very boring, dull and drones on and on…if you know something about horse racing in Australia go for it…not sure why or where or what the bridge was all about, did I miss how or when Michael did stuff like that? Not being from ‘Australia I missed also something about pegs….pigs? Pegs for horses? I forced myself thru it….

Loud music at beginning of each chapter makes it hard to understand narrator.
Revisado: 11-28-22
Narrator voice is too soft, music at beginning of each chapter makes it hard to understand the first few sentences as the narrator is reading during the music…annoying,,,,
