Historia
In When McKinsey Comes to Town, two prizewinning investigative journalists have written a portrait of the company sharply at odds with its public image. Bogdanich and Forsythe have penetrated the veil of secrecy surrounding McKinsey by conducting hundreds of interviews, obtaining tens of thousands of revelatory documents, and following rule #1 of investigative reporting: Follow the money. When McKinsey Comes to Town is a a devastating portrait of a firm whose work has often made the world more unequal, more corrupt, and more dangerous.

Shows systemic problems in McKinsey's culture
Revisado: 10-15-22
The assembled investigations show a pattern of systemic problems with the firm. Conflicts of interest (e.g. Consulting to both regulators and regulated companies) and a broken governance model (local partner's power to chase profit) are two.
Contrary to some reviews posted here, cost cutting was a small focus of the book. The opiod debacle, Joule vaping, tobacco, ICE, the role in exposing Saudi dissidents that lead to the execution of Khashogi, the corrupt sale of work in South Africa and NHS work all feature.
Perhaps the best feature of the book is the access the authors gained to client and billing records allowing them to illustrate the depth of client conflicts of interest.
McK has pursued growth at huge costs. The firm is virtually unrecognizable from the values and persona of Marvin Bower.

What is the true role of ego in the evolution of humanity? Is ego necessary for spiritual development, or is it a burden? What do Freud, Jung, Spinoza, Alfred Kroeber, Charles Haanel, and other great thinkers believe, and how do their insights help you in your daily life? What happened in 1918 that changed the destiny of our planet? With specific exercises to help you connect with your ego and your higher self, this is a book for those curious about concepts ranging from the collective unconscious to the role of self-love.

No coherent guide to psychology.
Apparent vehicle for authors' own world view.
Poor production
