Elizabeth Gilbert has managed to tumble through common issues we share with being human. Yet in doing so she's also highlighted details we so rarely think about. Juliet Stevenson has a voice, several in fact, which delivered this story and made it easy to hold on to.

I understand that no one can write the best ever all the time. Up until this last book I could find no fault. I found this last work to be more predictable and less engaging than all of the others. At one point I wondered if this was written by a ghost writer.

Any additional comments?

Edward Herrmann has a cadence as a narrator, which he uses to keep this story moving. His timing is seemingly effortless. Without such a combination I might have put the book aside.
Stories about war, strife, and challenge can be depressing. NOT this story. D.J. Brown found his way through the telling by perfectly balancing the joy and rewards of youthful hope, with the hard facts of life.
He was able to include "the good ole days" of simple living without distracting from the truth that they weren't that good.
Extractiing enough detail from someone's private life, just enough, to build a character that one can love and relate to, takes not only an analytical mind, but also, an open heart. What is a story with out that?

Would you listen to The End of the Affair again? Why?

I certainly would listen to this book again. I will wait a year or two, as the effect it left with me still echos. Colin Firth has used his collection of talent, insight, and I am guessing, experience with his own conflicts, to express the depth of this story.
Graham Greene took the time to cherry pick each emotion from the avalanche that is borne with war, loss, and love. He also had the insight to strip down his characters to the point of raw personality, which made the story flow, rather than bog with too much flesh.
The story kept me interested to the end. For me, this is a challenge, as I am naturally drawn to nail biting, mysterious adventures.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have shared the pure truths in this presentation often. Telling others how I lost weight without a diet plan gives others hope and lifts their spirits.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ho'oponopono Hypnosis?

I felt an absolute comfort when I experienced the simple, natural process.

What does Craig Beck bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I hear his truth in his voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When he talks about self confidence .

Any additional comments?

It is also working for other issues.

More than a City

This story made my trip to New York absolutely vivid. When I took the boat tour on the river one late afternoon, my mind's eye could see the colony, the people and the early Indians. I was truly able to understand how the characters felt when they saw the shore, the small fort, and the natives.
As I walked through NYC, I realized the history of this wonderful city and how meaningful it was.

When I read this book 25 years ago, I fell in love with it. Imagine how excited I was when I found it here on Audible.com. THank you for providing such a foundational piece of work, dealing with many, many topics here on Earth, but above all, LOVE.

The Narrator has a wise edge to his voice without being overbearing. His Cadance allows the listener to experience the story without getting bored.

One special thing about this book is that you can begin listening anywhere and the story unfolds in a way that still engages you. Each chapter is a complete story.
