I'm so excited to read a book from Amy Porterfield. I've been waiting for years for her to write a book. She has a talent for teaching, and her advice is solid whether you are just beginning or working for years.

I fell in entrepreneurial love with Darren Hardy after the Compound Effect. I absolutely appreciate this book as it gives actionable steps and helps you get out of your head. I can sit and collect data all day long, but how true is it that if I keep that knowledge in my head and don’t do anything with it, then I am a fool. Love the tough lessons and humility as he tells his stories. We’ve all been there - it’s good to hear we’re not the only ones.

Fantastic

A friend sent me a random Youtube review of The Room, and I couldn’t figure out if it was real or satire. After some research, I watched the Disaster Artist and loved it. Shortly after, I watched The Room and was horrified yet completely intrigued about the backstory. As for the Disaster Artist, for the first time in my life, I can watch a movie AND read/listen to the book it’s based on as they are equally great. The Room is like a gift that keeps on giving. Greg imitating Tommy’s voice is absolutely fantastic and really makes the audiobook come together. Highly recommend this book, the movie, and as painful as it was, The Room.

Hidden gem

I am surprised I haven’t heard more about this book. This definitely ranks among my top 10. It’s relevant and has great examples and advice. As an extroverted introvert (yeah, that’s a thing!), I was able to relate completely. Highly recommend this book.

Perfect book for life

I have already recommended this book to multiple people (even before I finished it). This is the first time I willingly listened to a book at 1.5 speed instead of 2x because I wanted to make sure I took it all in. The advice is spot on for so many things. You will feel like you’re sitting with your best friend while listening to this book.

This book is now in my top 5 books I will constantly listen to. It usually takes a couple weeks to listen to a book, but I finished this in 4 days. I listened every chance I got. This has been so beneficial in terms of not only making others feel appreciated, but making you yourself feel appreciated. I have unknowingly used some of these techniques in the past, and it makes sense why things did or did not work. One of the best lines in the book was about how none of these practices will work on a sociopath. Great to know! Now I’m off to find more books by this author. Further, I think the narrator has read other books, and I like his style. You can listen on double speed, and everything is clearly understood.

Explains so much

My husband and I both read the 5 Love Languages book, but we never applied these theories to our 3 year old so. Even with his speech delay, slowly applying each love language in everything we did towards him has helped him become more communicative and expressive.

Chilling, yet reassuring

I finished this book in 24 hours because it helped me navigate the feelings I had as a result of dealing with sociopaths. The flow of the story also kept me engaged. Highly recommend if you have feelings of doubt about someone else or even yourself.
