This book was absolutely fantastic! The production made you feel like you were actually living the moment with Mikki Taylor.
I learned so much about the street my husband grew up on, and about these beautiful pioneers who helped shape black and women’s history. Please do yourself a favor and read this wonderful book.

I feel so fortunate to have read this book, and so happy that Ms. Devore left us her beautiful story towards the end of her life. What an inspiration. The writing was so eloquent and moving. I definitely recommend this book!

I can not express in words how wonderful this book made me feel. To hear Cicely Tyson’s wisdom and life experiences was a gift. This book is a must read. Everything about it, including the voiceover work was beautifully executed.
