REALLY BAD IDEA

Not fan off the background Sound effects
Revisado: 02-04-20
The narrator’s performance was very good. I was not a fan of the background sound effects. That almost ruined the performance IMHO.
This was a different look at Bosch from the outside. I wasn’t onto the approach at first, yet kept an open mind. That paid off. I really enjoyed this story. Stick through it into the end.

Superb reading by Mr. Bower
Revisado: 05-03-19
Humphrey Bower’s narration bright this book to life for me. His accents added such color and authenticity. I read the physical book simultaneously with listening to the audible version on my daily commute.

Michael Kramer and Brandonsanderson = Pure fun
Revisado: 03-11-16
Would you consider the audio edition of The Bands of Mourning to be better than the print version?
No, they are both outstanding and complement each other well.
What other book might you compare The Bands of Mourning to and why?
All other Mistborn books because it's a fun story
What about Michael Kramer’s performance did you like?
I love how he voices his characters. His voicing brings them all to life. Wayne is a fun character to begin with and Michael's narration really makes him come to life.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
nope, the entire series is a fun ride.
Any additional comments?
Michael Kramer + Brandon Sanderson = Fantasy excellence.

Historia
It's America in 1962. Slavery is legal once again. The few Jews who still survive hide under assumed names. In San Francisco, the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. All because some twenty years earlier the United States lost a war - and is now occupied by Nazi Germany and Japan.

Worst novel I've read to-date
Revisado: 03-11-16
Would you try another book from Philip K. Dick and/or Jeff Cummings?
Without a doubt, this is the worst novel I've read to-date. It is on par with Battlefield Earth. This is a character driven novel, focusing on 4 or 5 characters and it's only 270 pages. Germans, Italians, and Americans all have Japanese accented English in both their internal and external dialog. The narrator's performance makes matters worse. Characters are voiced with stereotypical Japanese accented English, even the Germans....and the one Jew in the book, Frank Fink is voiced with a poor Jackie Mason imitation. Ugh. What a waste of ink, paper, and bytes.
What was most disappointing about Philip K. Dick’s story?
There was no story, that was the problem.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jeff Cummings?
Fran Drescher would have done a better job.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
anger in the fact that I wasted $3.94 on the narration...
Any additional comments?
Yes, don't bother reading this book or listening to the narration.
