Historia
A trip to the grocery store changed my life. That's where I bumped into my "straight" coworker and good friend, Jake Perez. I decided to invite him to my book club night, not realizing the chain of events that invite would kick off. Immediately our chemistry became too explosive, making our friendship and work relationship complicated. That same night, a bloody package addressed to me lands on my doorstep. Falling for Jake was never in the plans—then again neither was being targeted by a dangerous stalker. This was going to be interesting.

The dial on this novel never moves
Revisado: 05-23-24
Good books have highs and lows - a will they or won't they - this book stayed on one level the entire read. Too many superlatives all the time. Even the mystery answer was given away early so there was no big reveal. The first sex scene was hot, the rest that followed (and there were a lot) became tedious.
Yawn.

Historia
Best friends (and occasional lovers) Ezra and Orson are teetering on top of the world after founding a company that promises instant enlightenment in this thrilling caper about scams, schemes, and the absurdity of the American Dream. At seventeen, Ezra Green doesn’t have a lot going for him: he’s shorter than average, snaggle-toothed, internet-addicted, and halfway to being legally blind. He’s also on his way to Last Chance Camp, the final stop before juvie.

Meh
Revisado: 12-14-23
For me a good novel takes you on a rollercoaster ride but this one only goes one direction: down. I was hoping to eventually like this protagonist, but I couldn't; I really ended up hating him- his self-destructive behavior and actions never change and the downward spiral never ends. The narration was good enough, but not good enough to lift the bleak storyline.

Historia
Enrique “Quique” Luna has one goal this summer—get over his crush on Saleem Kanazi by pursuing his other romantic prospects. Never mind that he’s only out to his best friend, Fabiola. Never mind that he has absolutely zero game. And definitely forget the fact that good and kind and, not to mention, beautiful Saleem is leaving LA for the summer to meet a girl his parents are trying to set him up with. Luckily, Quique’s prospects are each intriguing in their own ways.

Loved this book. will listen to it more than once. I can not recommend this enough. It's about coming to terms and realizing what you want in a relationship and not settling for less.

There’s one thing Jay Collier knows for sure - he’s a statistical anomaly as the only out gay kid in his small rural Washington town. While all his friends can’t stop talking about their heterosexual hookups and relationships, Jay can only dream of his own firsts, compiling a romance to-do list of all the things he hopes to one day experience - his Gay Agenda. if you're looking for perfect annunciation, look no further. If you're looking for engaging characters you'll really care about and root for, this isn't the book for you.
Honestly, (to me) the characters were so annoying that I started to root against them. The inevitable crises before the denouement was overwrought.
Big meh from me.

Historia
This is a story about two teens falling in love over a summer that throws everything possible to keep them apart. Max: Chill. Sports. Gay and not a big deal. And a secret: An encounter with an older kid that makes it hard to breathe, one that he doesn't want to think about, ever. Jordan: The opposite of chill. Poetry. His "wives" and the Chandler Mall. Never been kissed and searching for Mr. Right, who probably won't like him anyway. And a secret: A spiraling out of control mother, and the knowledge that he's the only one who can keep the family from falling apart.

loved the story
Revisado: 12-28-21
I really liked this story and it was kind of nice everything wasn't neatly wrapped up at the end. Both narrators were capable but the Jordan character sounded more like an eighty year-old man than an angsty teen. it was well dramatized but I just didn't 'buy' it. Otherwise there are moments of tenderness, humor and vulnerability from all the characters.
